This belongs in team advice.
But I would rather have either of those guys over Booker.

Re: Is Devontae Booker still a hold?
I would rather hold Booker for a couple weeks than hold Gordon or a backup defense. But I would also prefer Allen/Nelson.

Re: Is Devontae Booker still a hold?
He isn't going to help you anytime soon .. He has had his chance and didn't do much with it demonstrating very little patience in outside zone, too quick and eager and never seemed to let anything develop, decent out of the backfield .. even if he gets healthy I doubt he sees the field this year ..

Re: Is Devontae Booker still a hold?
He hasn't even shown anything near as much as those two have. He was bad last year. Make the move for sure.
Re: Is Devontae Booker still a hold?
Anyone think Deangelo Henderson could be the direct CJA handcuff sooner rather than later?

Re: Is Devontae Booker still a hold?
Charles has looked good.l I don't know if there is a limitation on his workload or not, so maybe Booker or Henderson have a big role if CJA goes down, but neither guys will take Charles' current role with how he has looked.
As Booker still seems like the guy to get first shot, I would rather hold him than Henderson.

Re: Is Devontae Booker still a hold?
Posted this verbatim in a CJA thread, feels relevant here too:
Booker is a strange case, what we saw on the field last year does not match his college tape or match his coaches perception of him. Whenever a Broncos coach talks about Booker they rave, they love the guy. Vance Joseph has said he pushed for the starting job in the spring before his injury. When you look at their contract situations its best for the Broncos if Booker emerges and they can role with Henderson and Booker next season. This is the last year of guaranteed money for CJA and I think he's overpaid based on his injury history. I would not be surprised if he's on another team next season. I tend to believe that we did not see the real Devontae Booker last season. He was coming off two knee surgeries and most definitely hit a rookie wall but showed some flashes of talent and 3 down potential. CJA is good, not great at everything making him a capable, well rounded back but I think Booker's ceiling is higher. I agree with Cougan, sell CJA now. Whether its injuries, poor oline play or competition for touches... one of these factors is bound to hurt his value before season's end. I think he'll continue to garner the most touches before a season ending injury in the back half of the year, Booker will take over and CJA will be an Eagle next year.

Re: Is Devontae Booker still a hold?
I'd take a shot on Henderson before Booker. Booker had his chance last year and blew it. He will never be startable for fantasy purposes. And Henderson looked good in preseason, until the final game.
Re: Is Devontae Booker still a hold?
I don't have my hopes up but I have just enough hail marry hope to hold onto him. To me it looked like the fumbles got in his head last year. He fumbled in his first game and then it looked like he was running solely with the goal of not fumbling again. Run straight, two hands on the ball, don't fumble.
Then some time went by and he started running to make plays (and not just to not fumble) again and he looked pretty good. And then he fumbled again, and looked like he reverted back to playing it safe.
I dunno, we've seen a few of these guys look bad as rookies and turn it around. Of course it depends on roster size, but may as well give it a few more weeks unless there is a priority add out there. CJ will probably be hurt by then anyway.

Re: Is Devontae Booker still a hold?
I tend to agree with mclilj and vcize here. I am not counting on him, and I didn't even like him that much or draft him anywhere last year, but his college tape and his rookie tape looked really different, so I think it is possible he is a better player than he showed as a rookie. The way the coaching staff talks about him and the fact they have kept him above Henderson on the depth chart despite Henderson showing out and Booker being out kinda backs up that they think he is better than he showed last year.
Not saying he is a buy, but I have held him over guys like Smallwood and Burkhead so far during waivers. He is coming back soon enough that I would like to see him on the field (or at least see him not get on the field while healthy) before cutting bait. He wouldn't be the first guy to look bad with a good opportunity as a rookie and still turn out to be a good player.
