Treadwell

Postby CM21VE » Wed Sep 13, 2017 3:51 pm

Is this guy finally FA material? He is pretty non-existent and when Michael Floyd comes back I am afraid he will see no time on the field..

Thoughts?

I say you have to at least give him a shot UNTIL Floyd comes back. Unless there's very good options on your WW

I caught heat on Reddit for this, but I've never liked this guy in the NFL.

His senior year at Ole Miss he looked, to me at least, a lot like the lead WR at Mississippi State DeRunya Wilson. Wilson was huge, strong, and slow and caught everything. I think he ran like a 4.7something and Treadwell ran a 4.6something.

I was really surprised Treadwell went in the first round and Wilson didn't even catch on with a team, as far as I know.

Not saying Treadwell shouldn't be in the league but he just seems like kind of a plodding possession WR in a league that wants big and fast or freaky agility.

I doubt you're going to find better options on waivers. I still like his upside and think he'll eventually pan out. Just maybe not till his second contract on another team...assuming Diggs and Thielen are there long term.

At this point he is no better than the 5th option on the team behind Diggs/Thielen/Rudolph/Cook. I just don't see it working out as long as these guys are here.

Interesting take from a Vikings fan. I'm debating Treadwell or Doctson right now and it seems like BOTH aren't panning out as planned. Might be time to cut bait on both underachievers. I think I'll give Treadwell until Floyd comes back. If he hasn't made any noise, see ya...

I hate having the guy.

He will still get a chance due to his draft status if nothing else so I can't drop him but he is a worthless POS right now clogging my roster. At least White had the courtesy of hurting himself so I could free up the space and put him on IR.

Try adding Perriman to your roster along with Treadwell and Doctson. All I need is one of these guys to do something. If Treadwell doesn't pan out this year he'll get cut from my team. I'll probably hold Doctson for another year. I'm really hoping Perriman comes around ASAP

He's in a group with K. White, Perriman, Carroo, and Dorsett as far as I'm concerned. Not in terms of player evaluation, but as a dynasty asset. Basically, they're all droppable in 10 teamers or shallow 12 teamers, but otherwise worth stashing for one more year or so.

Sell him low if there's anyone in your league who still thinks he has upside. His chance to make improvement was this off-season and in training camp and he came out still behind the likes of Jarius Wright and when Floyd is unsuspended he'll be behind him as well. I watched him in pre-season, if he wasn't a first round draft pick he wouldn't have made the 53 man roster. He's a complete bust and I think enough time has gone by to call him that as he made 0 improvement between his 1st season and now like he would have needed too

someone said hes a hold till his second contract??? what? lol you are holding a dude for 4 years hoping he pans out with team 2? not me. but i also would not cut him after seeing 1 game in season 2. i say wait till at least week 8 ish and see if he gets more involved or if someone goes don to injury and he gets thrust into a role that way. he needs to get some run to know what kind of asset you really have.

I gotta agree with this.
I'm big Vikes fan and concur as well. He saw 36 snaps (I believe) vs. NO and came up with one catch. We're not going to run a ton of 3 WR sets and with Cooks addition that takes away even more snaps. I think you will gradually see him implemented more as the season goes on, however Floyd is going to hurt his value further. Long story longer I would not drop him as I think he holds good upside but don't expect much this year.
