Tarik Cohen Fan Club
Re: T. Cohen's value?
PPR no way less than early 2nd/late 1st.
35 yds rushing / 45 receiving w/5 receptions as a floor = 12 -13 points per week. That's 200ish pts for the 16 game fantasy season @ a minimum. Add some TD's and you have a RB 2 flirting with RB 1 production.
That's why I have the Tafrik & Tyfreak show on my teams in 2 out of 3 leagues. Let me have them cheap as my number 2 position players or flex options everywhere I can.

Re: T. Cohen's value?
Or you could wait another week or two for the inevitable bump in value coming Cohen's way. Imagine consensus will easily be a 1st for him after even 1 more week of 80% of what he did in week 1.
Personally, I'd hold him. I think he can be something in this league -- minimally something big for the Bears this year with that mess.

Re: T. Cohen's value?
Holding where I own him, but no way in hell would I give a 1st for him. He's a very exciting player, but he's still a COP/3rd down RB with who I think lacks a real path to lead back duties.
I don't throw 1st rookie picks at RBs litely, and when I do it isn't for a COP back who had one nice game. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure he'll have a consistent role, and he probably just jammed Jordan Howard's ceiling down 3-4 feet, but I wouldn't even consider paying a 1st. I also think it's pretty foolhardy to automatically assume that Cohen will produce anywhere near this on a weekly basis. Seems like a week 1 overreaction IMO.

Re: Tarik Cohen is too small to be successful
Huh?
Anyway, insults aside, I think one can easily argue that being "too small" isn't the same as being "too big" in the NFL.
And MJD weighed over 30 pounds more than Cohen, and was taller by a hair.

Re: Tarik Cohen is too small to be successful
I'm not sure what counts as "successful"... He doesn't have similar measurements to Theo Riddick (5'9, 201), but maybe he could pull that off. I guess I would define a level of success I don't really think Cohen can achieve and/or sustain at Riddick's. Aside from not being physically similar, their game also isn't similar - Cohen is fast, Riddick isn't - but they're both role players who should make their living in space.captain howdy wrote: ↑Mon Sep 11, 2017 3:20 pmWhat does he have to do, to be "successful"?jeffster wrote: ↑Mon Sep 11, 2017 1:38 pm On what grounds do you think BMI is an important stat, at all? He's historically small. The argument seems to be that he's light, but it's okay because he's short too? If that's the case, where are all the other RBs at 5'6, 179 pounds? Shouldn't there be more than I can count on my fingers in the last 18 years?
Would it be better if he was 5'5?
What would his advocates consider a reasonable expectation of success for Cohen? Sproles?

If he can become Sproles or even Riddick, I'll be thrilled. Held him since training camp just in case, and now I think he may be my RB3!

Re: T. Cohen's value?
I would probably buy for a 3rd. At that point everyone is a flier anyway, and at least Cohen has some hype. I would hope I could flip him, maybe as a shiny sweetener in a package for a trade target.
I'm selling for any random 2nd, or I would be if I had any shares.

Re: Tarik Cohen is too small to be successful
As an advocate, I think rb3/flex/bye week fill-in, is a success. Anything above is gravy. I dont want to start him on a contender or anything, but60 catches is not unreasonable, he gets return opportunities, and rushing opportunities. The Bears did well giving him the ball in space too. He also showed an aptitude, sans one crossing route, to get low before the tackle. He only took one big blow the whole game.jeffster wrote: ↑Tue Sep 12, 2017 12:03 amI'm not sure what counts as "successful"... Re: Tarik Cohen is too small to be successful
I am playing Cohen as my RB2 this week ahead of Gore and Mixon. PPR + return yards. Will he have a long career in the NFL? I wouldn't bet on it. But the Bears made it a point to get him the ball early and often, so I will ride it out while it lasts! I do agree with what others have said, he did a good job avoiding big hits so far.lukkynumber13 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 12, 2017 12:17 am If he can become Sproles or even Riddick, I'll be thrilled. Re: T. Cohen's value?
I just acquired him for Eric Decker, a 4th round pick, and $57 FAAB (out of 300).
I bought high, I know, but with my WR situation Decker is extremely unlikely to ever start for me this year and I like Tarik as a flier. If he busts my team isn't really hurt much, if he hits it's a big (and potentially long term) boon.

Re: T. Cohen's value?
I think that is a great trade for you Chuy. You have all the upside and didn't give up anything you are relying on. You may have just gotten a steal!
I'm think I agree with many others who have put his value at at least a 2nd in ppr leagues. If he turns out to be even somewhat of a mix of sproles/riddick... that alone is worth a 1st + , if you are getting them at the start of a 6-10 year run.

I'm too ashamed of any of my teams to post.
Re: T. Cohen's value?
Seriously? How long have you played this game? People always chase points, plus he's a rookie and he "outplayed" Howard so he's obviously the next big thing at RB.lukkynumber13 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 12, 2017 1:04 am Wow, this post has me slightly encouraged!
