Saquon Barkley official thread

Postby Shcritters » Sat Sep 02, 2017 11:04 am

Alright DD, can you just pencil him into the top tier of your rookie RB rankings right now? The guy looks like a bigger and, amazingly, more agile MJD. Haven't seen Guice play enough, but Barkley looks like the best RB coming out right now.

He is great and it is Akron. Most likely the top back. Ohio states true freshman just broke their debut rushing record and urban said he might end up better than Zeke, minus the drugs and character issues. Fire up the hype!!!! Just kidding, sort of. Simmie Cobbs Jr. Sure was punking the Buckeye D all game and made a couple one handers. Should be a good class and fever will hit, then landing spots will be meh and people will look at 2019.

If you want a sneak peak on the next OU stud rb, Abdul Adams got some garbage time run last year and looked alright. Nothing near the Mixon/Perine/DeMarco/AD mold, yet. I think he will end ip pretty good. DeMarco was not even that hyped coming out, had a good college career, but not projected to be a stud.

Or their TE Andrews, he will be a high pick (position wise) next year.

They were saying in the game... 4.38 40yd dash... and weight lifts with the lineman... will be world class weightlifting compared to RBs at combine.

He may go number one in the NFL Draft now. Darnold struggling at home against WMU, Allen had problems af Iowa, and Lamar Jackson has started slow at Purdue...... Hope the sarcasm can be detected. Barkley looked great though. No K Carter this time.

Some analysts believe that Barkley is a better RB prospect than Gurley, Fournette and Zeke. He's an absolute stud. It's really only a matter of time.

It's like a dog chasing its tail. The next guy up is always better than the guy before. Of course at this point I think he's gonna be great too!

Today's game isn't built for AP. He's an elite I-form type of back, best of his generation. He's a below average rb in the shotgun, because he's below average in pass protection, route running and catching. I really liked watching AP, but would rather draft a rb that excels in the shotgun.
I get your sarcasm though. I'd just much rather have the next Bell or DJ than the next playbook limiting Peterson. A QB may limit a playbook as he learns. A RB limiting the playbook...who wants to build around that?

True, but I don't think it's a ridiculous belief at all. Barkley is really good.

Marshall Faulk as a receiver
Peterson as a power/finnesse back
DJ's jump cut plus 4 more yards, at least
Barry's jaw-dropping wiggle
Smith's vision
And since there's no rb comp for his game smarts, Tom Brady ability in his pre-snap reads

I think we can safely say he is easily the greatest rb prospect of all-time.

...until whoever is that guy next year.
