Give up OBJ for this?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Give up OBJ for this?

Postby TheGoat21 » Wed Aug 23, 2017 9:29 am

For the team below someone offered me Deandre Hopkins and two 2018 firsts for OBJ.

It's a 10 team league and we do 4 bottom teams are in a lottery for the bottoms 4 picks. Both of the picks I'm receiving are projected to fall in the lottery.

Given how my team is set up to win now would you pull the trigger on this? I still have AJ and Jordy as well as Hopkins after this trade. And then I have a solid chance at two great picks for next year.

I would do it, but I'm more of a gambler than most...the truth is, you really don't have any weak spots other than depth and two top 4 picks can help fix that pretty quickly at this time next year.

I wouldn't... but I'm a Giants fan.

Also, I like to walk away from deal with the best player in a trade. You'd be giving him away.

I think Odells peak value has been hit. Hes still a top3 wide out and will continue to be. But I would absolutely make the deal.

If you want to win now I would not make that trade. Hopkins might take a step forward next year, but I doubt it's this year.

I would do that in a heartbeat. Really not even that close IMO. Hopkins is a huge bounce back candidate so getting him plus two potentials lottos seems like an easy decision to me.

Id take it, the impact of 2 top 4 picks in the long term is immense, even if you just resell them next draft season as everyone falls all over themselves to get guide and barkley.

Piling on. I'm a bit concerned about OBJ as a pro and as a person in general. Not a fan. Love his skills and the one handed catches, etc, but I think he's a guy with issues who could end up having some probs down the line. Regardless, two lottery picks in top 4 in next years draft, PLUS Nuk? Yup, I'm selling!
