Trade offer

Postby Tyrober » Sat Apr 01, 2017 5:43 am

In the middle of a 10 team 2QB start up and I decided to go very young and build something for the future instead of competing right away. Iv traded down multiple times and ended up with 4 2018 1st rounders. We start 2 QB 2 RB 3 WR 2 TE 1 flex and currently in round 15

Current roster is
Luck
Mariota
Tannehill
Goff

Fournette
D. Henry
Gio Bernard

Hopkins
Diggs
Lockett
Corey Davis
Mike Williams

Hooper
Fleener
Doyle

Was offered Gronk, 3 2018 2nds, rounds 16 and 17 in vet for my Corey Davis, Hooper, round 19 vet and a 2018 1st

I wasn't planning on competing this year but a healthy gronk could swing things in my favor. Hate giving up Davis but would still have 3 2018 1sts I could trade for a stud or add some young talent. Very high on Davis but he hasn't played a game in the NFL yet and Gronk is one of the best if healthy. Seems like a solid haul and I might could grab more for Gronk later if he stays healthy but then again I would be looking for something I would,be giving up

I would stay the course with your squad. It's not a bad offer and you are close in a 2 qb league with those qb's you have, but too may ?'s elsewhere.

That is kind of what I am leaning towards as well. I drafted my team and gained assets to try and have a top team in 3-4 years and Gronk doesnt fit into that plan but if healthy I might could compete now if everything goes right. Would completely change the direction I was going for but probably not the best move for me.

I think u should take that deal. Gronk is prob worth Davis and the 18 one. Getting the 3 twos is gravy and will give u plenty of options in the future. You should be able to flip gronk for more as the season gets closer.

I say stay the current course. Gronk while a top tier talent no doubt the dude cannot stay healthy and so I think this is a very risky trade for you. Keep your guys, stay patient.
Team 1:
12 Team, Superflex, 0.5ppr
1QB, 2RB, 2WR, 2FLEX, 1OP, 1TE, 1Def
QB: Matt Ryan, Andy Dalton, Sam Darnold
RB: Zeke, Yeldon, Kerryon Johnson, Elijah McGuire
WR: OBJ, AJ Green, Tyreek Hill, Larry Fitzgerald, Jamison Crowder, Taywan Taylor
TE: Gronk
D: Chicago

Team 2:
10 Team, Superflex, 0.5 PPR
1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 2 FLX, 1 OP
QB: Carson Wentz (3 years), Drew Brees (2years), Eli Manning(1year), Ryan Tannehill(1year)
RB: Zeke (4 years), Carlos Hyde (1 year), Alex Collins (1 year), Elijah McGuire (TS)
WR: Keenan Allen (2 year), Michael Thomas(NO, 3 years), Demaryius Thomas (1year), Jarvis Landry(1 year), Golden Tate (1 year), Robby Anderson (TS)
TE: Kyle Rudolph (1 year)

Thanks for the advice all. I declined the trade. It's risky either way but felt like with my very young core and assets I could have a great team in 3-4 years.

Keep Davis and the pick - you're still a year or two away. Grab at least one of those TE prospects this year in the draft.

When Gronk spikes 15 times next year, you'll be wishing you did it. Give me Gronk as i'm the only one who polled that way. He's so elite at this position, he posts WR1 numbers AS A TIGHT END. He's only 27...

I'm getting Gronk here. The value is good and I'd keep loading up on studs. The other side is more potential-based and I'd rather have the proven commodity and advance quickly toward competing for a championship. In a 10-team, I like you to make some playoff noise. Start Luck, Mariotta, Fournette, Gio, Hopkins, Diggs, M Williams, Gronk, Doyle flexing Fleener or Henry.... looks ok to me. I'm not an owner who is patient though. I'm constantly trying to put my team in position to get into the playoffs and then let luck decide my fate. Playing for 3 or so years down the road never seems to work out.

Also, I'd use Tanny or Goff to get something interesting at WR. Even a Garcon type could add the depth needed to push for a playoff run.

I'm not sure I could have turned that trade down, even with your youth. It's not like this is Gronk's last year... Give up a potential #1 WR to get a proven #1 TE? The other pieces are close to a wash for me. But you are obviously banking on Davis living up to the hype, and we don't even know what team he is on yet. Again, I get the youth side of it, but I feel like you are overly confident in a rookie WR by passing on this trade. Time will tell on this one! GL.
