Is there a DJ in this years draft? Team 2 in sig, grabbed him like 7th round, Team 1, I slotted him in 3rd round in 4 round draft(as far as I knew, no one had a clue about him), guy right in front of me took him in round three. I was sure he was going to be stud and so far, he is. If I have that feeling again about a player, I ain't waiting as long.

There almost always is to some extent. Is there a potential 1000/1000 RB that will be found in the 2nd round? Given that DJ had what was probably the best PPR season for a RB in a decade (I'm guessing), then I doubt that. In a deep rookie class like this, chances are someone will emerge from that range though. I'd say Jordan Howard was the DJ of last year's class. There are a handful of RBs I like that have that potential this year, but I'll have to wait until the draft to really zero in on a couple of them.

I better get to sleuthing, I want to find that guy again. Sleuthing, in honor of Jerry Krause, "the Sleuth", who passed away this week. Never got the respect he so well deserved to make the Bulls champs for 6 out of 8 years. Thanks Jerry, you made Chicago sports the most exciting thing in decades. RIP.

Not really a reasonable question, dude but Id have to say Mixon is as close in size, speed, skillset, ect. As you're gonna get but no one can/will produce like DJ from this year's class. Fournette might rush for 1500 but will he catch 80 for another 800? No
McCaffery could catch 80 balls but cant run for 1300 at the same time.
I dont even see 1000 yards from Cook at the next level.
I mean, even Zeke isnt close to DJ. DJ was ask to be the whole team numerous times and was able to deliver with little help. 48 more catches and 500 more RYs than Zeke( 350 less RuYs though). Could Mixon do that? I seriously dout it

If you're just talking about a guy that will overproduce his draft spot Id put my money on Marlon Mack

But who saw DJ being DJ? Mixon, no secret, at least I don't think he is. And to your point, it is not reasonable to expect DJ numbers from anyone. So I will clarify, what RB do you see in this class that will bang the heck out of everybody? Big surprise? Laughing at your response, it is an unreasonable question on my part, no one is going to shock it like DJ. You got me.

Not sure about anyone having the ceiling of DJ but as far as exceeding expectations similar Howard last season I would put my money on Samaje Perrine as a possible option but if I'm going deeper my money is on BYU's Jamaal Williams. His measurable aren't anything special (6'0" 215lbs) 4.59 40 yard dash, 30" vertical, but when I watch film on guys he's the one that continues to stand out for me. He has patience, burst, power, vision, & balance. I think he's under rated as a pass catcher and at the next level could surprise some people. Similar running style to Leveon in my opinion

Let's take a look here...just comparing DJ to the guys mentioned in posts above mine.

DJ- 6'1" 224 4.50 40, 109.3 speed score, 134.1 burst score, 11.09 agility score, 25 bench reps, 40.8% college dominator rating, 134.9 sparq-X score

Joe Mixon- 6'1" 228 4.50 40 (pro day), 111.2 speed score, 118.5 burst score, 11.37 agility score, 21 bench reps, 24.7% college dominator rating, 120.4 sparq-X score.

Karrem Hunt- 5'10" 216 4.62 40, 94.8 speed core, 121.6 burst score, n/a agility score, 18 bench reps, 28.7% college dominator rating, n/a sparq-x score

Marlon Mack - 5'11" 213 4.50 40. 103.9 speed score, 122.9 burst score, n/a agility score, 15 bench reps, 29.8% college dominator rating, n/a sparq-x score

Samaje Perine - 5'11" 233 4.65 40, 99.7 speed score, 114.1 burst score, 11.63 agility score, 30 bench reps, 27.8% college dominator rating, 127.5 sparq-x score

Jamaal Williams- 6'0" 212 4.59 40, 95.5 speed score, 112.5 burst score, 11.78 agility score, n/a bench, 36.4% dominator rating, n/a sparq-x score

Here's what I take away, Mixon is probably the closest physically tested to DJ, but you notice the massive advantage that DJ has over all these guys in production/dominator rating. That just goes to show you how ridiculous of a prospect DJ was and he routinely went in the 2nd or later of rookie drafts.

I'd also argue that Hunt isn't near the power runner DJ is, Mack is a decent player as well but not as good of a pass catcher. Perine I don't think is a great pass catcher, same with Williams.
DJ was that ultra rare player who actually started his college career as a WR running WR routes and then switched to RB and got big thick and strong and dominated both on the ground and through the air.
I don't know if you'll ever find a guy who can stand up to DJ's profile honestly, but Mixon does his best impression I think
