Trade the 1.01 or keep it?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Trade the 1.01 or keep it?

Postby M-Dub » Fri Mar 10, 2017 12:03 pm

Team 1 in my sig. Trying to figure out if this team can be a contender with the addition of Fournette. I feel like I have a lot of guys with high ceilings but also a ton of risk based on injury history.

The most stacked team in the league has expressed interest in the 1.01 and says he's "willing to pay." His notable assets include:
Rodgers, Big Ben
D. Henry, D. Murray, Hyde, Miller
OBJ, Evans, Alshon, DT, Diggs, M. Bryant
Reed
1.04, 1.07

Based on my current roster, would I be better off trying to package the 1.01 along with other pieces and try to get OBJ or Evans, or move the 1.01 for multiple pieces from him? Or should I just stand pat and keep the 1.01?

Would something like DT, Rodgers and either the 1.04 or Henry be too much to ask for?

Agree with this.
If he is willing to pay, just say something like. "I am willing to move it, but i'll need to be blown away."

And see where it goes.

Don't limit your trading partners to one guy. Let it be known to the league that the 1.01 is on the block and he'll be more eager to pay up. I would ask for Henry, the 1.04, and the 1.07 to start, then negotiate from there.

That seems a little light for the 1.1

Try 1.1 for Hyde, DT and 1.4

Really though if hes asking you tell him to make a serious offer and go from there, but the 1.1 can bring huge paydays. Just because you have things close I traded 1.1 &1.7 for OBJ.

In response to the first part of your post, I do not think Fournette makes that team a contender, particularly against the other roster you posted. Now, if you can raid that roster and only move the 1.01, things might get a little closer imo.

As presently constructed, I don't see how you can be a contender with Jimmy G as your only QB. He doesn't have a starting job at this time. Adding Fournette or trading 1.01 away in a deal for OBJ still leaves you with no QB. Am I missing something??

I wasn't planning on going into the season with Garoppolo as my starter, obviously. I just dropped my other QBs to dream on more position players during the offseason. Dalton, Bradford, Smith and Goff are all free agents that I can snag late in the draft if I don't trade for a better option before then. It's usually not hard to find streaming options at QB with our shallow rosters, so it's not a huge concern for me at the moment. Definitely something I'll address before week 1, but not a pressing concern.

So the general consensus is that I would be better off moving it for multiple pieces rather than actually making the pick?

Agree with this. Don't think Fournette or any one player makes you a contender. I'd look to pick up a couple players and bolster a few positions.
