One last comment and then I'm finding something better to do with my time. Even beyond this incident, Mixon sounds like a total d-bag. However, he is a d-bag who has made only one criminal mistake in his life to my knowledge. He received 100 hours of community service and court ordered counselling for that mistake. Is that out of line with what people think should've happened?

I see people saying he should've had his scholarship revoked and been kicked out of university, but to what end? Is that going to make him a better person? Is it going to send an example? Probably not on both counts and I don't think it should be on a school to dictate criminal punishment. I feel the same way about corporations. Mixon is perfectly suited to be a running back and the anger issues fit right into that. If you don't like the justice that was handed down from the courts, take it up with the politicians to get tougher on whatever crime you feel is being underpunished. Going after the perpetrators undermines the entire premise of justice. Going after corporations that employ them is ridiculous as well. There are a buttload of assholes in any major corporation and the impact of their personality is felt a lot worse than some woman getting her face broken, even though that makes for great TV.

I would still like to know where we draw the line for people who beat women. Which jobs can and can't they have? Again not trolling, just trying to understand the other side of the argument.

If you transfer schools for athletic reasons, they don't let you play football for a year. If you blast someone to blow off steam, they don't let you play football for a year. I think the punishment fits the crime...

We don't need the death penalty. Texans use their guns to handle business. Haha. I'm not a Texan native, I'm a transplant.

I work in the financial industry. Pretty sure if that was me I'd be prosecuted. That, along with the video evidence, would most definitely get me fired.

That's a strange report given what Stoops said yesterday.

This. Most people would be fired from their job over an incident like this. If I did this and everyone I worked with knew about it, it wouldn't even be a second thought about retaining me.

What do you consider opportunity? Applying for a job? Sure I could do that. But chances of me getting a similar job with a felony record is zero.

A couple of things

Mixon wasn't charged or convicted of a felony
Felons can still get jobs, just not as easily
Not giving convicted felons jobs does not make them or society better
