Free College League (BCS only)

so now that i have wet my palate wet with the college ff flavor, I have decided to start a league.

However, this will not be very elaborate ..for now perhaps a 20dollar league in future with other parameters as well.
I just really want to see how it works. If I am supremely confident that we can go all out then lets cross bridge then when we get to it ($$ and customization and keeper or dyno etc )

Free

BCS conferences only. main goal here was to market it a bit by only including those power conferences that are regularly visible on the tube via CBS,ABC and ESPN. although ND is regularly visible on NBC the other independants arent. I dont have a problem though throwing ND in there..if i can.

8 teamer. I could expand to 10 but want to see how hard or easy it is to put together a eight teamer.

Live draft ...cbs rules so it will be some type of "minutes" per pick draft.


I didnt pay to customize so we are at the mercy of cbs default settings. But CBS is not that bad actually.
Constitution has yet to be created.

This will not be a DLF league but I am looking for some DLF'ers.

I hope a couple of you I play dyno's with that I know like their college ball as well will be interested.

Sorry for the hijack, but I'm looking to fill spots in a free college fantasy football league hosted on CBS. This will not be a DLF-exclusive league but I am looking for some DLF'ers. Other than Moneyballer, I'd like to specially invite all the folks who were taking part in our now defunct DLF College League. We will pick a day that works best for everyone and draft all at once with a 1-minute timer. The other league settings are as follows:

Maximum 16 teams in the league. Start 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 1 RB-WR-TE, 1 K and 1 DST = 10 starters + 8 bench spots = 18 total roster spots.

Player Pool: SEC, Mountain West, Atlantic Coast, Western Athletic, Pacific 10, Big East, Sun Belt, Mid American, Big Ten, Big 12, Independents and Conf USA Teams (in other words, all)

Transactions: Lineup deadline is 5 minutes before gametime for each player.
Transactions will lock five minutes before the first game on Saturday. Players whose teams play before Saturday will be locked for the remainder of the scoring period.

Schedule: Playoffs start in Week 11 and last for 3 Weeks. 6 or 8 teams make playoffs depending on league vote and/or commissioner decision.

Scoring: Head-to-Head, Points Based System.
Ties go to the team with better TotYd.
Ties in the standings are resolved in this order: Winning Percentage, Total Points.

Scoring for Offensive Categories
FG - Field Goals 3 points
Plus 1 point for a FG of 50 to 99 Yds

FL - Fumble Lost, Including ST plays -1 point
Pa2P - Passing Two-point Conversion 2 points
PaInt - Passing Interception -1 point
PaTD - Passing TD 4 points
PaYd - Passing Yards = 1 point for every 25 PaYds
Plus a 1 point bonus @ 400+ PaYd

Re2P - Receiving Two-point Conversion 2 points
ReTD - Receiving TD 6 points
ReYd - Receiving Yards = 1 point for every 10 ReYds
Plus a 1 point bonus @ 150+ ReYd

Ru2P - Rushing Two-point Conversion 2 points
RuTD - Rushing TD 6 points
RuYd - Rushing Yards = 1 point for every 10 RuYds
Plus a 1 point bonus @ 150+ RuYd

XP - Extra Points 1 point

Scoring for Defensive Categories
DFR - Defensive/ST Fumble Recovered (DST) 2 points
DTD - Total Defensive and Special Teams TD 6 points
Int - Interceptions 2 points
PA - Points Against, Total Points Scored 0 - 2 PA = 15 points
3 - 5 PA = 11 points
6 - 13 PA = 8 points
14 - 18 PA = 5 points
19 - 26 PA = 2 points
27 - 35 PA = 0 points

SACK - Sack 1 point
STY - Safety 2 points
YDS - Yards Allowed 0 - 49 YDSs = 14 points
50 - 99 YDSs = 12 points
100 - 149 YDSs = 10 points
150 - 199 YDSs = 8 points
200 - 249 YDSs = 6 points
250 - 299 YDSs = 4 points
300 - 349 YDSs = 0 points
