David Johnson for 2017 1sts?

Hey Guys,

For the team in my sig I have been offered the following deal. I need some RB depth and this deal would certainly solve that Problem, while Also stabilizing my DE a little bit. I think the value is pretty good, but the only reason why I am hesitant is because I am quite confident that one of the 1sts will be top 3 and could be the number 1.

I Give: Moncreif, James White, Cliff Avril, My 2017 1st and another 2017 1st (most likely top 3)
I Get: David Johnson, Melvin Gordon and Everson Griffen

What do you guys think of the value and if you were in my shoes would you make this deal?

I think DJ is probably worth the 2 17 1sts plus a tiny bit more perhaps. I would drop Gordon and the likely top 3 17 1st from the deal if you are strongly considering it.

FWIW i have no idea about IDP.

Too me your alright with your rbs now. I'd hold the 1st rd picks and wait for the rookie fever to hit next season and the value of those picks increase tremendously. I'm passing.

I tend to agree with the above- I think I'd wait for a bit at the least. Certainly if you want to try and compete more now this year, sure, do it, but if you think that even this deal doesn't get you close enough to make a run, I'd rather the picks next year.

agree that you should see if you can remove early 1st and gordon...

maybe add fuller or one of your other QBs to the deal instead

No idea on IDP either but taking those players out I'd easily take the Moncrief/picks side.

I love DJ but I wouldn't do that. Don't trade that top3 1st for anything

I don't play IDP so I can't comment on those.

Keep what you have. Go after cheaper RB solutions like Gore, Forte ect...

No point in massively overpaying for an overrated RB who only had 500 yards rushing last year. He's have to finish as a top 3 RB for the next few years to justify that price and the odds of that happening are slim.

Hell if you add a little bit more to Moncrief and the 2 2017 1sts you could probably make a run at Gurley or Bell. I'd just hold on to that 2017 1st and grab one of the top RBs that are coming out next year.

Man I was so lost when reading these comments, until I realized this is an old post. lol. That deal would have been amazing for him, and most likely won him the championship. Bell, DJ AND Gordon on the same team? Holy cow. Too bad he probably didn't take it.
