It bugs me how just about every 5'10"/185lbs or so WR prospect gets compared to A. Brown now. It's like doing the same with every 200lbs RB and Jamaal Charles. A. Brown and Charles are abberations in so many ways, not just in terms of their non-traditional physical profile, but simply in how they actually play. While I certainly think the WR position is trending smaller these days, comparing every midget receiver to the league's best wide-receiver is fallacious.

That said, I own Lockett. I think he's very talented. Despite his tiny catch-radius and hands, he has many special traits. In my view he's a shorter, less physical Tim Brown, or for Hawks homers: a faster Steve Largent.

I do not think he has an elite WR1 tier ceiling. High-end WR2 tier, sure.

Low End WR2 is the best I think he will be. I agree how insane it is that every small receiver is AB.

He's already shaping up as a relatively safe WR3, so setting his ceiling at low-end WR2 gives you like no head-room with your projection.

Just traded for him I also have high expectations for the little guy. This team is Russell Wilson's now and I expect the passing volume to stay closer to how the team finished last season without Marshawn. Also hopeful some of that insane production from Baldwin can shift over to Lockett.

Lockett is a very good receiver and heavily underrated this time a year ago. His routes are a thing of beauty and I think he'll have some good seasons with Wilson.

But I agree with the other poster that the Antonio Brown comparison is way overused for every small receiver. Brown is going to go down as one of the best receivers...ever.

I really like Lockett and think he can be a solid WR15-25 for years to come. However, I don't think it will happen on the Seahawks. I really don't think a team that is changing it's philosophy to a passing attack would bring in 3 rookie RB's in 1 draft. That being said, I think he can be a WR10-20 in return yard leagues.

It's not crazy to think now that lynch is gone they showcase Russ a bit more. The team will play to its strengths and if the run doesn't work how they envision I could see them passing quite a bit more.

Plus they invest a little draft capital in a pass catching back...perhaps a tip of the cap towards what they want to do more of this year?

agreed. I think they were moving towards this in recent years with Lockett, Richardson and Graham. Would be an unstoppable offense if Graham hadnt blown his Achilles but Jimmy Graham at 70% is still good.

As a Seahawks fan I just disagree. They're not a team that is built to air it out a lot. Adding screens and dumpoffs to a guy like Prosise does not count as going pass-heavy. It's still a ball-control, brute force philosophy on BOTH sides of the ball that isn't going to suddenly change because one guy retires. That's wishful thinking. In addition to several running backs they drafted Germain Ifedi who is a great run blocker and poor pass protector in the first, and then drafted a blocking TE in Nick Vannett. If Lockett will put up improved receiving numbers, it will be because of the efficiency of the offense, not because they'll suddenly start airing it out 40 times a game.

It was his patellar tendon (but your point still stands). I wish it was his Achilles. PT ruptures are hard to come back from in athletes that cut, jump, and need to stop quickly. I'd be happy with Lockett being a solid, consistent WR3.
