Bradford or Tannehill?

Postby Shoreline Steamers » Tue Oct 01, 2013 7:07 pm

Just wondering who you all think has a brighter future in the league? Both are generally ranked fairly closely, so I was looking for some opinions.

As least Philbin is willing to throw downfield. More than the Rams and Fisher can say...

I think tannehill has shown much more though I do think some of the obvious strikes against Bradford are due to lack of consistent coordinators and coaches, lack of a running game, lack of an o line, lack of wrs (until this year) etc. he should have shown more by now for sure though I do grant him some leeway given those issues that aren't completely his fault or controllable.
I think he still has a chance to be solid but likely not ever more than a high end qb2 or very low end qb1

Tannehill should be a qb1 next year(?)

I agree with a lot of what's been said. We should have seen more from Bradford by now, though some would argue for a mulligan this year until he has time to build chemistry with his WR's. I've rationalized his underwhelming performances before, but was really starting to question where people valued him at this point. It seems pretty clear so far, not a lot of Bradford supporters.

Just gut level stuff here, but I've seen a lot of Ram's games being in the NFC West and I'm not sure I like Bradford's demeanor. He's a competitor, but doesn't strike me as a leader. He has the skills to play the position, but doesn't seem to be elevating the play of those around him. Granted his line is not a strength, but neither is Miami's.

I like Tannehill's mobility, though he didn't show great awareness/judgement on that run where he fumbled the other night against the Saints. His experience as a WR intrigues me as well. I've been a Bradford supporter in the past, and still think he's a good QB. But am starting to feel that perhaps Tannehill has a higher ceiling.

Might be time to buy before his value goes up. By this time next year I wouldn't be surprised if it's higher than Bradford's.

I still believe in Bradford, at least to some degree.

I expect that offense to start opening up as the season wears on. They need to realize that they cannot run the ball, and their best bet is to run an uptempto offense with 3 WR's on the field. Get creative with some of the play-calling and start using Tavon Austin in space.

I do like Tannehill, but I see him more of a game-manager than game-changer, at least in fantasy football terms. He may be the safer bet, but I think Bradford still has a higher ceiling.
