Poll: Rob Housler or Jordan Cameron?

Postby Team Tacos » Tue Jul 23, 2013 6:13 pm

Cameron will be a TE friendly scheme, we know that. But will Housler get more chances in ARI this year? Arians calls him a WR at the TE position... What does everybody think?

At this point I'm going with Cameron due to the offensive scheme. They are both all hype, upside, and athleticism at this point..

I think Housler has a better QB throwing him the ball, and is being drafted later than Cameron...

Housler has the better QB, more experience at the position, and is a safer bet.

I don't think Arians' offense features the TE enough to take Housler over Cameron.

Arian's Te position last year had 71 catches, 802 yards, and 5 TD's. I'll take that for Housler without a single complaint. That makes him Brandon Myers or Greg Olsen from 2012. Especially if that's not using the TE like people like to complain about. I don't really get the TE not being featured argument.

Owned them both. Had to dump one, it was close but kept Housler. Just safer in my opinion.

From 2007 to 2012 Arians' TEs averaged 96 targets, 734 yards, and 5 TDs per year. Turner's TEs averaged 115 targets, 974 yards, and 9 TDs per year. Standard fantasy production (non-PPR) puts Arians' TEs producing 103.4 ppy and Turner's producing 151.4 ppy. That's a 46% point advantage to Turner's TEs. These are non PPR results, but at 115 targets compared to 96 you can extrapolate as necessary. I'm just going with what the stats are saying to me between these two coaches.

Hope that helps you understand the argument. :)

I think the argument was that Arians does feature the tight end position not who features it more. If two rookie tight ends accumulated those stats in his system I would have faith that Housler would be used. Especially since Arian's is quoted as saying that he sees him as a "big wide receiver." I could see him playing the slot at times too.

I started that 'argument' with my initial post (see above). I was just explaining my position. I didn't say Arians didn't feature TEs; I said he didn't feature them enough for me to take Housler over Cameron.

Anyway, to each their own, I was just sharing what my own research was showing as I think the difference between the two is relevant here. :)

Again, Rourke and I agree, I'm betting on Housler in 2013, I've been holding onto him for 2 yrs waiting for this, so I may be a bit biased
