Crabtree v. Cruz v. Harvin

Postby cusefan115 » Mon Apr 08, 2013 12:44 am

How would you rank these three? Is there a tier break between any of them? I get the impression that Harvin has the most talent but also the most injury issues.

I will probably get some remarks for this but....
Crabtree
Cruz
Harvin
The Crabtree and Cruz picks are pretty close to me but I am not a big believer in Harvin

Interesting. That is actually the way I am leaning as well. Harvin definitely "pops" when you watch the film but I wondering how he will adjust to the new offense. Plus, his health issues worry me. I know, I know savvy fantasy footballers should buy in the face of health issues.

I have Harvin as my WR6, with Cruz and Crabtree behind by 6 or so slots. Harvin continues to be undervalued due to his height.

And what you see as undervalued, I see as the exact opposite. I see him as overvalued. I cannot believe the hype on him. Its not that I don't think he is a talented WR, but I just do not think he will ever live up to expectations.

In my league he averaged 17.9 points a week in 2011. In 2012, up to week 9 (so I'm including the game he got injured and went out early), he averaged 21.05 points a game. He's a total stud.

I will eat all the crow I deserve once he consistently stays on the field and puts those numbers up.

Missing 3 games in 3 years before this injury isn't bad. He was also the WR7 in a year where he played under 60% of his team's snaps and had one of the least effective QBs in the game throwing his way.

Harvin >>>>>>>>>>> Crabtree >> Cruz.

Harvin is a much better real and fantasy football asset and this is an odd inclusion in this list. Cruz is a as much a product of a great situation as much as his talent. If for some reason he leaves the Giants I doubt he would hold close to similar fantasy value.

Am I the only one not on the Crabtree bandwagon? This guy was an absolute no-show until mid-year when Kap started at QB. I know he took off after that, but I want to see him do that for a full year when teams gameplan for him.

I go Harvin by a decent margin, Cruz assuming he resigns with the Giants and Eli, then Crabtree. I need to see more from Crabtree before I put him in the same group as the other 2.

Is Crabtree really the kind of WR opposing defenses gameplan to stop? Were teams not trying to stop him the last 5-6 weeks of the season into the playoffs? He's not Calvin Johnson or Larry Fitzgerald.

I would go:

1. Harvin
2. Crabtree
3. Cruz
