Broyles vs. Givens

Postby KMA » Fri Dec 28, 2012 9:22 am

Hoping for more clarity. PPR. Given their respective ages, situations who has the better outlook? I hear Givens being compared to Wallace and Broyles to Welker. Is this accurate?

I really am intrigued by Givens. What puts him over the top for you?

I tend to side with risk aversion, so Broyles knees are the tie breaker.

How far do you see this kid going? WR2? WR1? WR3?

I think Givens is more of a long ball catch player. Broyles might be better at PPR type leagues

He wont get lost behind SJax, Armendola, and eventually Quick? How many stars has Fisher produced? What is his ceiling? He can't be anything more than a mid range WR3 in that offense. IMHO

Considering Broyles will be out until mid next year plus miss the offseason program and the some of training camp, the edge here goes to Givens, short term at least.

Lions GM Martin Mayhew says Ryan Broyles (torn right ACL) "may not do much during camp and he may come on around midseason" in 2013.
Broyles tore his ACL in Week 13 and will certainly be up against the clock to even make it back for Week 1 next season, but he's said he is "definitely shooting" for the opener. After tearing his left ACL in 2011, Broyles came into the NFL and didn't experience an offseason. He'll be in the same position this upcoming year. Broyles didn't make an impact until Week 7 this year, and we'd feel pretty comfortable predicting a similar return date in 2013.
