Next 3 Years: Shady or ADP?
Next 3 Years: Shady or ADP?
Pretty easy question here. Who would you take for the next 3 years in a PPR league? LeSean McCoy or Adrian Peterson? Is it close?

Re: Next 3 Years: Shady or ADP?
The way Peterson has come back from his injury and been so dominant has taught me to never doubt Adrian Peterson.
Dominant RB until 2025.

Exactly that. I Know McCoy is younger and they are both very productive, so I probably SHOULD pick Shady. However, ADP appears to be a different physical beast than the average rb. I suspect he'll have a longer productive shelf life than a typical RB, and therefore I have no problem rolling with him over the next three years. My only regret is not trying to pick him up this off season when people were giving him away. I am glad, however, that I resisted the urge to give him away in the one league that I ownehim him

Lets say he continues the 20 carries / game average he has this season. He'd be at 1,731 career rushing attempts at the end of this season...and the end of next season, he'd be at 2,051 - good for 34th most rushing attempts of all-time. As you look at the list of guys ahead of them, most of them in recent memory weren't top 5-10 backs the last few years of their career.

I know AP is "different," but Foster is on pace to finish the season with 1,026 carries and people are talking like his wheels will fall off next year. I know, I know...."But...but....but Foster is going to have over 360 carries this season! That's a curse! He'll DIE next year!" Know who else has had a 360 carry season? AP - 4 seasons ago.
AP is having a very impressive season - a career year in YPC at 6.0 (only other season over 5.0 was his rookie year). I love the guy, but I just don't think he's a top 5 guy after next year. I'm not Shady WILL be a top 510 guy longer than AP, but I like his chances.

Re: Next 3 Years: Shady or ADP?
Shady - youth, speed, better catching ability, better offense, better QB.
Is he a physical beast. No. But he's a lot younger, with a lot less tread on his tires.
Especially if Chip Kelly comes - this poll will probably make a lot of people look foolish.

Don't you want more tread on your tires?Jimmy Graham Cracker wrote:Shady - youth, speed, better catching ability, better offense, better QB.

I'll take Peterson. McCoy is still awesome but didnt run with 10% the determination Peterson ran with this season.

McCoy Might end up out rushing AD for the next 3 years, but nothing can occur that will make me feel foolish about picking him.Jimmy Graham Cracker wrote: Especially if Chip Kelly comes - this poll will probably make a lot of people look foolish.

If I were a contender, AP would be my player...but if we are going with the question asked, I might go with McCoy
