Hankerson or Baldwin?

Postby holy_stromboli » Tue Sep 25, 2012 1:00 pm

Personally feel Baldwin is a little more talented, but Hankerson is on a better passing offense. Short and long term, why would you prefer one over the other?

Baldwin.

Hankerson is only the X receiver until Garcon gets back. Once he's back to the z spot, he'll primarily be blocking. I don't see Garcon going anywhere and I think Hank will be a spot start at best for a long time.

Baldwin should be the guy to replace Bowe. I worry a little because the Chiefs will almost certainly be grabbing a rookie QB to replace Cassel, so it could be a couple years before Baldwin is reliable, but I like his talent enough to believe he'll put up a few solid weeks a year even with a garbage QB like Cassel.

Baldwin.

I've never been a big Hankerson fan.

I really believe Bowe is going to leave KC after this year and Baldwin will assume Bowe's role in the offense. I think Baldwin has the abilities to succeed in that role.

Hankerson short-term and Baldwin long-term. Hankerson came into the NFL with a more polished skill set. He should get some opportunities to shine very soon. Baldwin was much more raw and still needs time to develop. I watched the Chiefs game Sunday and saw a nice go-up-and-get-it attitude from Baldwin. That was, of course, partly due to Cassel trying to overthrow him on every play, but the point is Baldwin can fly. He nearly one-handed a ball in the end zone that would have been the play of the day.

Baldwin is improving slowly but surely with every game, but my god is Cassel and that O awful outside of Charles right now.

Hankerson meanwhile has been doing good in limited opportunities.

Yea. One thing I have noticed with Hankerson is that he seems to be targeted either on very deep passes or short drag routes over the middle. He had a couple of catches barely beyond the LOS and between the hash marks but just couldn't break free. The lack of play making ability with the ball in his hand (I have noticed this before) is a bit of a concern. Hank is violent like Little or Dez but he isn't shifty like Harvin or Cobb.

Nice find.

Funny about the people who brought up T. Smith, as he is currently doing the best of all 3 right now.

I kinda like them both, truthfully. Though Garcon will obviously be the starter, I see no reason Hankerson can't start across from him by the end of the season. I like Baldwin quite a bit too, I thought he was a rougher prospect, and having Cassel/KC certainly doesn't help his value right now. I think he could eventually be really good, if you're patient. Gun to my head, I'll take Hankerson because I believe hin his qb, and baring injury to RG3, I don't see that situation changing. The "situation changes/talent doesn't" mantra for young players is more about bad situations, as bad situations seldom stay bad forever. But a good situation? Hankerson could play 10 years with RG3, and I like that prospect a lot.

Keep in mind that there are now rumblings of the great Brady Quinn getting a 1st team rep or two...

I'd much rather them give Stanzi a look.

So begins the Brady Quinn era at Arrowhead? :roflma:

And I guess Shanny likes to F*** with his WRs as well as his RBs. Why did Josh Morgan start today?

BRADY! BRADY! BRADY! (That chant is right up there with "RUDY! RUDY!" in ND circles).
