Difference between Watkins and Kirk?

Postby davidxhorn » Wed Mar 27, 2019 8:34 am

I know Watkins' value is still higher than normal, but he is still Sammy Watkins. How does he compare to Christian Kirk?

Just curious... How valuable is the phrase "he is still Sammy Watkins" ?

I'll take Kirk

Unless Hill is removed from the equation and KC brings in no competition for Sammy, I want Kirk. Never mind, even then I'd rather have Kirk.

I thought Kirk looked pretty good last year considering the atrocious QB play, which could be upgraded. Never been a Sammy fan.

I would much rather have Kirk at this point. At some point it's okay to move past Watkins as a dynasty piece. He is what he is

Kirk looked like a JAG in college, he looked like JAG also far in the pros.

I’ll take the upside of Sammy, especially since I believe Hill is about to be gone for a very long time.

I am a fan of both players but I concur with lukky in that I'd rather have Watkins if I had to choose between the 2.
Please speak to clarion contrarion before considering the use of vetos..

Oof, hard disagree with that. That KC offense would obviously regress without Tyreek, but how could you not want Mahomes's #1 WR? If Tyreek is gone all they got left is Kelce, Sammy, Demarcus Robinson, Kelvin Benjamin, Damien Williams, Carlos Hyde? Who's gonna catch all those passes besides Kelce?

What's a reasonable estimate for Mahomes this year? Last year he hit 5000-50, so without Tyreek can he still hit, idk, a conservative 4200-32? Hard to imagine Sammy doesn't get a big share of that, even if they draft a WR in the first 3 rounds.

IF Tyreek is gone (and I know that's still a fairly big if for now), then the only way I can truly see Sammy getting downgraded later is if the Chiefs make a splash trade for someone like AJ Green. Though honestly, I might be surprised if that DOESN'T happen (anyone, not AJG specifically). Feels like they gotta do something to upgrade WR at least a little bit.
