Andy Isabella
Andy Isabella
Early on so far I’m a big fan. Dude was a baller at school, and balled out at the senior bowl; without knowing how he tests at the combine where would you take Andy Isabella in a rookie draft; would late 2nd be too early?

Re: Andy Isabella
I know PFF loves him, predraft anothing after that first round is a crap shoot anyways so why not
Re: Andy Isabella
So much depends on where he is draft and his showing at the combine. With that being said I would say maybe mid to late second in a rookie draft.

Re: Andy Isabella
I listen to way too many podcasts and I heard he has small hands and is a body catcher. But he also gains a lot of separation so the body catching may not be an issue. They expect him to run a 4.3 or better!! Having said that, I think a late 2nd rounder would be good if he is drafted to a nice situation.

Re: Andy Isabella
Here is my thinking... with some players, it just doesnt matter. He went to Umass, which is the first thing you have to realize. Teams knew about him, yet, nobody could really stop him, including some of the top defenses/corners in CFB. As a Massachusetts native, Ive watched him play live and I'll put it to you like this...
Without pumping him up too much, I think 4.3 speed is easy for him. In a game situation, I can see him out-running any defensive player in the NFL and if he is utilized right by a team that favors or features a slot receiver, he could be coached up to be a serious player.
He's not a "body-catcher" so-to-speak. I think that notion is misleading. Overall, he was used as a "possession receiver" with big play ability after the catch. If you watch his tape you'll see him making body catches when hes settling in the zone which is smart..technique. I think its smart to let him fall as far as possible because personally, I'm not sure a ton of FF players know much about him and if they do they're probably not super-high on him. If youre set at WR, take him in the 2nd round with confidence, (if you draft before NFL Draft) if you draft after, wait until you see where he lands.
I think he will be relevant year 1 or 2.

Haven’t watched his tape but I heard he is a natural born body catcher. Love hearing that . I’ll see if it is true soon enough.

I've read that he is a pretty good route runner and doesn't just rely on his speed, if that's true I'll take the occasional body catch.

Pending landing spot, I see no issue drafting a player you think will be good with that pick.

Any thoughts on him lately, seems to be getting slowing more involved and has showcased explosive play ability.

Re: Andy Isabella
I would say early season usage and game day statuses were very concerning.. the flashes the last few weeks of his big play upside have been very encouraging.. seems like it may be up to the coaching staff however to scheme him more touches or generate more looks touches for him cause he seems like a threat to take it all the way every time he touches the ball

i'm buying!
scarce usage of a rookie WR early in the season is not that much of a red flag for me.

Yep.... I agree. I think I am giving up on A. Miller at this point, but Bella has a nice future with this Cards team.killer_of_giants wrote: ↑Mon Nov 11, 2019 12:00 pm i'm buying!

Love the speed/YAC, wish I could get him in my leagues. That said, I severely hope the nickname "Bella" doesn't stick- I don't need reminders of Twilight, or whatever that movie was.esloan35 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 11, 2019 5:49 pmYep.... I agree.
