Geronimo Allison or Elijah McGuire

Postby frodo2003 » Tue Jan 22, 2019 2:26 pm

I can only keep one of these: Geronimo Allison or Elijah McGuire.
Any thoughts would really help me.
Thanks

Tough call. Who knows where Allison will be, and Bell is looming. Flip a coin. LOL

McGuire would be the safer/conservative pick. Allison likely has a higher ceiling but it depends where he plays. Go with your gut.

What is your team construction and league rules in terms of number of keepers and number of starters at each position? That will help shape a better answer, because they are somewhat close in my opinion. I have both these guys and am hopeful for both, but not overly optimistic.

How many teams in league?
starting requirements?
current roster?
PPR?

these are questions we have, in order to give you the best answer.

This is a 12 team, PPR league where you can start as low as 1, or as many as 4, RB's or WR's
My RB's are Chubb, T. Cohen, J Howard, Kerryon Johnson, D Freeman and I. Crowell.
My WR's are JuJu, T Boyd, K Golladay,C Davis and Michael Thomas.

Hmm...more high end studs at WR, slightly more depth at RB. McGuire and Crowell could be a useful 1-2 punch on your team if the Jets bring back Crowell. This is still a tough one. Hopefully you have the offseason to decide? Or do you have to make a decision soon ish? I lot could happen to both players that would shake up their depth charts.

Wow, that's early! Who are your QBs? Maybe you don't have room to keep either? (looking at the 11 guys you listed + any QBs you might want to keep)

I would add McGuire to this squad. I like the potential of both but prefer the depth that he brings you at RB.

Also, I think Geronimo will be easier to get back if you still want him. His situation is more fluid - with all of the young WRs in Green Bay, he could be an afterthought for the Packers, and I'm not sure he's shown enough to be trusted highly by another team.

It is a salary cap league with IDP's (up to 85 years) so my roster is virtually unlimited as long as it is under the cap.
Both are on 1 yr contracts as I picked them up on waivers during the year.
All my other franchise tags are used up, so I have to figure out this last spot to extend.
Thanks
