D.J. Moore - Thoughts / Buy Low Opportunity?

This is the spot for player-to-player comparisons.

How confident is everyone that Moore will become a long-term WR1 (assuming Cam is healthy)?

D.J. Moore - Thoughts / Buy Low Opportunity?

Postby ajf235 » Wed Jan 16, 2019 9:34 am

My team is built to compete for a championship next year in a 4-keeper half PPR $200 budget league. I have Aaron Jones for $6 and another owner has D.J. Moore for $3.

Initially, I figured that the owner wouldn’t sell Moore for Jones but with the news that Cam may miss 2019, I’m guessing now could be a good buy low opportunity.

If I’m gonna give up the immediate value of Jones for a guy who may be pretty useless in fantasy next year, I wanna make sure that Moore will be incredibly valuable when Cam returns. I know Moore was the consensus WR1 in this class, but it was a weak class and I know a lot of the guys are not projected to ever be alpha WR1 studs, but maybe Moore is different.

So I’m curious, how confident is everyone that Moore will develop into a WR1 within his first 3-4 years in the league?

I think his ceiling is a low-end WR1 but he's a solid WR2.
I would be buying right now, but I don't expect it to be a buy low opportunity. If you can get him low, jump on it. Also, the Cam missing 2019 stuff is completely overblown.

voted not very as that tends to be the general odds on a player of his caliber in a similar situation. And I don't view that as a knock on him. becoming a true long term WR1 requires someone to be a transcendent talent (OBJ, Nuk, AB) or be a very above average talent in an elite situation (Adams). I beleive the odds on someone like him are roughly 33% or so but don't quote me on that.

It's not like Cam is a great passer anyways. I don't think that news hurts his value much.

I think it's more CMC that hurts his value then Cam. If you want Moore on your team moving forward, I think now is the best time to try and get him. It' basically the off-season and hype will build as OTA's and all start up again later in the summer.
