Aaron Jones vs. TY Hilton
Aaron Jones vs. TY Hilton
In half PPR for 2019-2021, who do you prefer?
Re: Aaron Jones vs. TY Hilton
Okay so TY is clearly considered the superior player to Jones for the next three years, which I agree with. However, how big is the gap?
If I have Aaron Jones at 3% of my 2020 budget and TY’s owner has TY at 20% of their 2020 budget, do you think I would have a reasonable chance of trading Aaron Jones for TY in week 1 of 2019 (after the 2019 draft but before the 2019 season starts)?

I am just a guy sharing some thoughts
Re: Aaron Jones vs. TY Hilton
Who’s a receiver you think I could get in that scenario then (assuming the WR’s cost is much higher than Jones for 2020 to the point where it could be cost prohibitive to keep them)? Would Diggs Amari Cooks or Woods be doable?murphysxm wrote: ↑Mon Jan 14, 2019 8:47 amno, I don'tajf235 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 14, 2019 8:45 am Okay so TY is clearly considered the superior player to Jones for the next three years, which I agree with. Your aiming even higher than TY now lol. Woods might be doable but all those other guys are fringe WR1sajf235 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 14, 2019 8:58 amWho’s a receiver you think I could get in that scenario then (assuming the WR’s cost is much higher than Jones for 2020 to the point where it could be cost prohibitive to keep them)? Your looking at a guy like ARob, davis, sutton or ridley
Re: Aaron Jones vs. TY Hilton
Yeah but based on their projected price, none of those guys will be keepable so it’s essentially a one-year rental for one of those guys vs Jones who is keepable at a ridiculously low price. I’d imagine that in redraft, TY is the most valuable of the bunch, followed by Diggs/Cooks at about even, followed by a gap and then Woods.Mjvb5 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 15, 2019 8:32 amYour aiming even higher than TY now lol. Re: Aaron Jones vs. TY Hilton
Also, right before the Bears game, Aaron Jones’ redraft trade value per CBS was around 32-35, which was right around in line with guys like TY and Diggs. If Jones is the starter and is a low-end RB1 through week 3-4 of 2019, you think he can return to his peak trade value from 2018 or you think everyone sees him an injury waiting to happen now?Mjvb5 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 15, 2019 8:32 amYour aiming even higher than TY now lol. Re: Aaron Jones vs. TY Hilton
I think he can make it back there this offseason, that's the issue he needs to make it through a loaded FA class and then a (weak) rookie class. be healthy through the offseason and be named the starter. If all those happen then yeah he can get back there and he'll probably go into the year as a mid rb2,. This league is very comparable to redraft than dynasty IMO, 4 player keeper with contracts most owners are gonna view everyone except the cheapest true studs as much more in line with redraft. As such the fact that I can't keep those WRs for more than one to two years doesn't matter a ton to teams IMO as that's the farthest I'd look aheadajf235 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 15, 2019 8:57 amAlso, right before the Bears game, Aaron Jones’ redraft trade value per CBS was around 32-35, which was right around in line with guys like TY and Diggs. Re: Aaron Jones vs. TY Hilton
So basically, I take it my best bet is to hold Jones until the start of the season and hope for a strong start and then try to offload him for a WR2 (or hopefully better if he really lights it up but WR2 is more realistic) to an RB-needy team?Mjvb5 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 15, 2019 10:30 amI think he can make it back there this offseason, that's the issue he needs to make it through a loaded FA class and then a (weak) rookie class. be healthy through the offseason and be named the starter. I’m asking because I have the draft capital to get either Julio + Saquon or Julio + Odell or AB next fantasy season. The Saquon option would give me 4 RBs and 2 WRs (with Golladay as my second) but I feel like Saquon is by far the superior player of the three draft options and would rather keep all RBs and trade Aaron Jones for a WR early in the season so I’m loaded at RB and not shallow at WR.
Re: Aaron Jones vs. TY Hilton
Yeah with Jones your best bet is to wait, right now there's a lot of unknowns and he doesn't have the track record or draft stock to put those to rest. I'm lower on him than most because I wouldn't want to burn a keeper spot on a player with that level of risk admittedly but with his current situation waiting is your best bet unless someone offers you a WR2 which I would snap upajf235 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 15, 2019 11:01 amSo basically, I take it my best bet is to hold Jones until the start of the season and hope for a strong start and then try to offload him for a WR2 (or hopefully better if he really lights it up but WR2 is more realistic) to an RB-needy team?Mjvb5 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 15, 2019 10:30 amI think he can make it back there this offseason, that's the issue he needs to make it through a loaded FA class and then a (weak) rookie class. be healthy through the offseason and be named the starter.
