Aaron Jones vs TY vs Cooks vs Amari vs Diggs vs Juju
Aaron Jones vs TY vs Cooks vs Amari vs Diggs vs Juju
In a keeper league, I have Aaron Jones at a significantly lower cost (1/7 to 1/8 of the projected 2019 draft price) than TY, Amari Cooks Juju and Diggs. Jones can be kept through 2021 at this low price. Based on this, do you think I could trade jones for any of these five receivers (whose contract price through 2021 would be 1/4 of the owner’s budget compared to Aaron jones at 1/25 of their budget) at the start of 2019 after the draft but before the season begins?
Re: Aaron Jones vs TY vs Cooks vs Amari vs Diggs vs Juju
not close really on any of them
Re: Aaron Jones vs TY vs Cooks vs Amari vs Diggs vs Juju
still proabably not I'm viewing this as close to redraft where I'd have jones around RB 25ish, most of those WRs are fringe WR1s
Re: Aaron Jones vs TY vs Cooks vs Amari vs Diggs vs Juju
RB25? The following guys are all I can think of who would or could be drafted higher than Jones:
1. Gurley
2. McCaffrey
3. Zeke
4. Saquon
5. Kamara
6. MGIII
7. Chubb
8. Mixon
9. Conner
10.DJ
11.Bell
12.Cook
13.Sony
14.Kerryon
15.Guice
16.Lindsay
17.Chiefs Starting RB
I’m aware Cohen, D. Freeman, Marlon Mack, Tevin Coleman and Carson/Penny exist but don’t think any of them will be more sought after than Jones in 2019, and I think 13-17 is pretty equal, with only slightly higher value than Jones atm (although Sony may have increased the gap between himself and the rest of that tier). I assume Ingram and Miller will be in different scenarios that are less conducive to fantasy success in 2019. Who am I missing here that moves Jones all the way to RB25?
Re: Aaron Jones vs TY vs Cooks vs Amari vs Diggs vs Juju
The thing with Jones compared to those guys is that he is significantly more risky than all of them at this point in time due to the reasons I mentioned. So for me I would much rather take those 17 backs fairly easily as they are in much more secure roles with similar upside. After that LF and Freeman are the two I would take firmly over him and would have him lower than Henry, Cohen, and Mack albeit in the same tier and then similarly ranked to TeCo and White if PPR. The issue I've always had with Jones and still do is that it takes a string of things for him to produce how people project him to, between health, the backs on the roster, the FA class, and the oft rumbled rookie RB talked about to the Pack I don't have him very high.ajf235 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 15, 2019 10:51 amRB25? Re: Aaron Jones vs TY vs Cooks vs Amari vs Diggs vs Juju
Can't imagine an owner trading one of those WRs for Jones unless the contract on the WR is so bad that the owner can't make other moves. Otherwise they should be able to get a RB with much safer value going forward.
Dynasty player since 2002.
I probably should have done something more productive with that time...

I forgot to mention earlier that the following RBs will have definitely be kept in 2019:ColdZealDonkeyStrike wrote: ↑Tue Jan 15, 2019 1:09 pm Can't imagine an owner trading one of those WRs for Jones unless the contract on the WR is so bad that the owner can't make other moves. Gurley
Carson
McKinnon
Zeke
Guice
Cohen
Kerryon
Kamara
McCaffrey
Coleman
Michel
Lindsay
D. Henry
Mack
Chubb
Mixon
Conner
And based on their cheap prices, I can safely say that no one is gonna give up Kamara, Gurley, Guice, Cohen, Kerryon, Sony, Chubb or Conner for a WR of that caliber. And Mixon/McCaffrey, while not at major discounts, are far superior to those WRs and have way more trade value.
So basically, people can spend $85-90 on Saquon, $60-70 on MGIII, DJ or Bell, $50-55 on Cook or Fournette or spend $25-50 on a guy like Devonta Freeman plus the $40-50 it costs to keep TY/Cooks/Amari/Diggs OR they could get Jones for $6.
Not like there are gonna be that many other options for several teams in my league.
