Kenny Golladay - Value Check

Postby ajf235 » Tue Dec 11, 2018 12:35 pm

What are people’s thoughts on Kenny Golladay? Given the state of Detroit’s offense and his recent struggles (albeit against top notch competition), do people still view Golladay as an ascending WR1 with high-end WR2/low-end WR1 value in 2019-2020?

After flashing as a rookie, he has been a high upside WR2/3 in just his 2nd season. More importantly than just numbers, he looks incredible on tape. He reminds me of Mike Evans big time.

In terms of a valuation, i wouldn't sell him for the 1.01 in this class.

Would need 1.01 and another piece to give him up. If I was buying I'd easily give the 1.01

So you guys both think he’s a future stud I take it?

Does "stud" mean top 10? He might get there every now and then. He's WR21 in PPR this year in only his 2nd season. He's big and quick and exactly what you would look for in a WR1 on an NFL team. He was also just thrusted into that role by trade and injury and suddenly Stafford's "arsenal" turned into Luck's tiny army. Point being, if Golladay can handle it, he could have a very high target share in the future. My worry is that he will see more coverage his way, which is why I alluded to him being able to handle it.

Golladay is what you hope any rookie WR in 2019 will show in their 2nd season. If this was a Barkley or Zeke class then maybe Golladay is worth slightly less than the 1.01. But in this year's class, there seems to be no sure thing so I would easily pick Golladay there
