Another Sutton question.. Courtland vs. Mike Williams

Postby Dalgrind » Tue Nov 13, 2018 8:15 am

So I'm a wildcard team it looks like this year, and not a very good one. My prospects of making a strong playoff run are not good. I'm looking to try to trade some guys to bolster next year (although the draft is uninspiring to me this time around). Anyhow I'm trying to figure out who I should value more for the next 2-3 years Sutton or Williams. My gut says Williams, higher draft capital, better QB, better offense but his targets are consistently awful! What's everyone else think?

Sutton all day here. Mike has had some opportunity but has done little with it... I'd rather Sutton even in a "worse" situation.

I could be remembering wrong, but going back to last year's draft Sutton was ranked higher than Williams by scouts when they thought he might declare. There was real debate between who should go first between him and Davis - but Williams was very much in the mix too. Somehow going back for another year really hurt his draft stock, but I think the talent is still there. Personally, I'd take Sutton - but it's close. I thought Mike W was primed for more of a breakout this year to be honest, so I'm probably knocking him for not living up to my high expectations for him this year.
