Jonnu Smith vs Gerald Everett

Postby Bot101 » Thu Oct 25, 2018 10:08 am

So I want to stash one of these guys. Both have shown very little. I currently have Smith rostered but Everett is on a much better offense. Thoughts?

I personally voted Smith but noticed Everett is getting more love in your poll. I guess the question is: Do the Rams continue to flow mostly through 3 great WRs and a great RB because that is their best personal? Or is that the Coach's preferred style? In other words if they didn't have those 4 quality players would they throw to a TE more? Coach doesn't have a long enough history to really know the answer. Tough one, for that reason. For what it's worth, Everett was 41 overall, and Smith 52 overall, in Matt Waldman's 2017 "Post Draft" rookie scouting portfolio. With both listed at Top 15 potential for their ceiling. I like both as holds, personally.
"Marathon Square" - 16 team full PPR league with 24 player roster. Keep 16 per year indefinitely, draft 8. Start 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 1 K, 1 Team DST
QB: Jordan Love, Deshaun Watson
RB: Travis Etienne, Aaron Jones, Jamaal Williams, Kendre Miller, Jaleel McLaughlin, Sean Tucker, Deuce Vaughn
WR: A.J. Brown, Garrett Wilson, Tee Higgins, Calvin Ridley, Michael Wilson, Kendrick Bourne, Tutu Atwell, Allen Lazard, Isaiah Hodgins, Justin Shorter
TE: T.J. Hockenson, Cole Kmet, Kylen Granson
K: Didn't make the playoffs in 2023  , and don't usually hold one in the offseason
Team DST: Cowboys, Lions

2024: All my picks except 3rd rounder

Disclaimer: My one and only Championship in this league was way back in 2011. Therefore, take my replies with the appropriate grain of salt.

They are almost equal with measurables and college production, Everett has a bit more draft equity, I like Smith's flashes a bit more even if the stat's aren't quite as high. I have been disappointed in Smith's production since Walker went down. I voted Smith by a bit, just because I don't think there is the competition for targets that Everett has in LA.

I'm also having this conundrum of who to stash. We only have two TE spots and Olsen is my guy right now with Smith on the bench after giving up on uzomah. I read somewhere that mcvay moved up in the draft to get Everett so I feel like he thinks he will be a big deal and that offense isnt going anywhere fast. Walker is under contract still so maybe he comes back another year.

This is Jonnu pretty easily for one simple reason. People made the argument all off season that the Rams couldn't sustain 3 relevant WR's and they showed everyone wrong. HOWEVER unless they start averaging 50 points per game I just don't think there is enough meet on the bone to support 4 receivers AND the #1 RB.

I voted Everett because he's in the better offense. But that also hurts his usage. It's nearly a toss up for me.
