Carr or Tannehill?

Postby Jcedwards » Tue Sep 25, 2018 4:01 pm

Who do you like going forward between the 2?

Tannehill is available on the wire, so I can potentially pick him up (have waiver 11 of 12 though)

I have a trade offer to receive Carr right now though, so do I go for Tannehill first or go ahead and trade for Carr?

They're close in value & while I personally prefer Carr it is hard to advise against a free Tannehill...

Only problem is that I’m not sure I even get Tannehill. Waiver priority 11 out of 12. Guy who just lost Jimmy G only has Luck as his other QB, so I’m pretty confident that he is going to get Tannehill. Is a 2020 2nd really that big of a deal right now?

Just as I expected, Tannehill was picked up before my turn. So now I’m planning to trade for Carr. He asked about a 2020 2nd and 2021 3rd. Is that fair or too much?

Is this for the team in your sig? If so, there is absolutely no reason to pony anything up for Carr. If this is for some team not listed in the sig, then it is hard to provide good advice. If Carr is going to be your starter than I think that price is fine, but if he is just going to sit on your bench I would rather keep the 2 and 3rd rd picks.

The only way that trade offer is a 'run for the hills you just robbed him' sort of trade is if its a SF league, which I am betting its not.

I understand youve lost both of your back ups...but, Mahommes bye isnt until week 12. Someone will dump their back up QB as injuries start to pile up through the bye weeks. Just keep an eye on the wire until then. I suppose you could cut Tyrod for CJ Beathard if you really just wanted a warm body on your roster though. Who else is on the wire?

Yes it is for my team in my sig. Mahomes is definitely my starter going forward. I guess I am worried that if something happens to Mahomes (before Winston takes over starting QB if he does), then I would have to pony up to acquire a QB/ go with Beathard. Didn't know whether it was better to go ahead and trade for another QB in case.

No one really worth anything is on the wire. People have grabbed and held QBs. Tannehill is the only one that had been on the wire up until waivers 2 days ago. What really stinks is that we have roster limits in place and I'm already at the max at WR and TE. So the only players worth anything is Beathard at QB, Juszczyk at RB, Bills/ Dolphins at D (thought about picking up Bills before this weekend and using them next weekend at TEN). Terrible options I know, but which one is better or just leave an open spot for now?

I would drop Tyrod for Beathard. I also really think people will start cutting their QBs as bye weeks and injuries creep up. So, I think you will have another chance to upgrade your back up QB before week 12.

Absolutely no need to grab a QB now. Wait. Or if your hell bent on getting a QB, what ever your offering should get you better than Carr.
