Jordan Akins vs Shaheen

Postby Jcedwards » Thu Aug 09, 2018 8:11 pm

Who you like more as a stash on the taxi squad?

Akins looked good in his first game and he ran with the 1’s.

Burton signing kinda put a damper on Shaheen’s outlook, but he should still have value (plus I have Burton)

Or I could pick up both of them (would drop Fountain and Hooper- activate Njoku from the taxi)

If you are stashing on the taxi squad and can do so for multiple years, I would definitely take Shaheen. Akins is already 26 as an fyi and is likely as developed as he will get - just needs to translate to the NFL game which it seems he is doing. So of the 2 I'd want Akins on the normal roster, and Shaheen on a Taxi Squad (likely needs 1-2 more years of seasoning).

Thanks. i don't have room on my active roster for Akins though. We can only have a max of 3 TE's on our active roster and currently I have Burton, ASJ, and Hooper. But I do have Njoku on the taxi, so I will probably be activating him to the active squad before long and cutting Hooper.

That is a frustrating rule to have - especially if you own an injury prone or injury risk TE. :(

Yea I know. I don't really like it. Only thing is to put them on the taxi squad and if an injury occurs, then you can move them out. Akins could be a good stash for now, so if an injury occurs/ someone stinks it up, I can activate him (assuming he does take that starting role).

I would likely stash Akins or Shaheen over Fountain or Wadley - assuming there was no limit to # of TEs you can stash save for the overall taxi squad size limit.

No limit in the # of TE's on the taxi squad. Just 3 on active roster. I can place 6 TE's in there if I wanted to. I have been thinking of dropping Fountain and Hooper (from the active squad) and activating Njoku, so I would have 2 spots open up in my taxi squad.

But these players are also available, so I can't decide if I want to pick them up/ place them on the taxi squad:

- Taywan Taylor
- Boston Scott (have Kamara though)
- Roc Thomas
- Elijah McQuire (could pick him up and if he goes on IR, move him to that, which will essentially open another spot)

I will have to drop Hooper either way. That stinking rule about only 3 TE’s on the active roster will make me drop him to pick up a TE (even to simply place them on the practice squad). I could potentially be able to pick Hooper back up though.

I think I may pick up both TE’s and end up activating Njoku. I like Njoku’s upside way more than Hooper. I think I’d rather gamble on Njoku versus Hooper if it comes down to it this season.

Shaheen is a monster. I'm buying him wherever he can although he certainly isn't that cheap.

I picked Shaheen up. Stashing him on my taxi squad. I have Trey Burton too, so if Burton happens to get injured or just doesn’t pan out, I have his backup, who has a high upside IMO.

Now I’m just deciding whether to stash Akins on my taxi squad and activate Njoku, or pickup Vannett as a stash and keep Njoku on the taxi squad for now. Have Burton and ASJ already on the active squad.
