Ajayi, Collins, Drake

Postby J. Edgar » Mon Jun 18, 2018 10:30 am

I'm having a difficult time separating these 3 backs, anyone want to rank them and give reasons why?

Ajayi has the most value but wasn't used exclusively with Blount and Clement in the picture, now Sproles is back.

Collins played fairly well but Dixon will be in the mix along with Javorius.

Drake probably has the least competition and could be the most "usable" back out of the 3, not sold on Ballage and is Gore really a threat?

Thoughts?

I think Ajayi has the safest role on his team and has one of the better O-lines and more prolific offenses. Collins is next because he was the better runningback compared to drake last year. Drake is a decent back but his team is an absolute dumpster fire. One of the worst O-lines in football, decent at best QB, mediocre at best receiving core.

I don't trust any of these guys long term. I sold Ajayi and won't buy Collins for his current value.
Drake would be the guy to take a chance on, given his price tag is (I think) lower than the first two.
If you had your choice of one of these guys for the same price I'd rank them: Ajayi, Drake, Collins.

I'd rank them Drake, Collins, Ajayi

Like what I saw out of both Drake and Collins last year. Not worried about Drakes competition, and think that Collins will out play Dixon

I hate what I saw from ajayi last last. Did nothing in Miami, was traded to Philly where he looked better but not great (aside from a few nice plays. He also consistently sat out practices while getting minimal touches. I don't think he has a chance in hell of putting together a healthy season.

Ajayi is easily the most talented in my opinion, and I think most would agree. He’s also on the best team (not even close) and on the offense with the best O-Line going into 2018 (again, by a wide margin).

Collins might actually have the best chance at a “full” workload, in the sense that he might have the best shot at 15-20 carries per week if he can improve as a 3rd down back and not fumble.

Drake, ironically, has the highest draft capital of the 3, but he’s my least favorite of the 3.

None of these guys are super reliable, but you are going to try to get the one that you think will be the feature back with the most touches. Ajayi's backfield is way to crowded. Drake will split carries as well. Miami's coach came out and said that he wants to spread the ball around. If Collins can carry the ball well out of the gate next season he should be the feature back.
