PPR League: Jamaal Williams or Isaiah Crowell

Postby DLF_TylerK » Wed Jun 13, 2018 8:02 am

I'm really not sure about which is better between these two guys. Jamaal Williams seems to have more upside, but Crowell is almost certainly at least a lead back in a committee if not a starter, even for a bad team. What do you guys think if it's a heads-up choice here?

Crowell. Easiest path to touches. He's also more talented. He will lead the team in carries and should have 30 plus receptions as well. Despite the fact Williams is in the far better offense, McCarthy has said he will use all 3 RB's as a committee. Good luck figuring out what game to start them.

Crowell easily. Williams figures to for sure be in a 3 RB committee, while Crowell will dominate the carries in NY. Also talk of Bilal Powell being a cut candidate which would really help Crowell.
*TEAM 1*

QB - Ryan Tannehill
RB - Ty Davis-Price / Deon Jackson

Crowell is only 25 years old now on a team that loves to run the ball. There are no other significant threats for carries, unlike on Green Bay (and Williams not even being their best back). Powell's value comes when the starter gets hurt, so his presence will have minimal impact on Crowell who should see a lot of carries in an offense that will no doubt continue to have an anemic passing attack.

Just made the trade one for one. I got Crowell, so I think my team was improved. Thanks for the advice guys!

Jamaal in a landslide due to being on a team with ARod that will likely be ahead in many games, and due to being the best pass blocker which will get him plenty of field time and opportunities, not to mention Aaron Jones being suspended the first two weeks. It is entirely possible Jamaal locks up the starting gig in that time. Crowell is overrated and in an anemic offense, and i've just never been a fan of him.

I never would have made the trade after the Jones suspension. That would have swung it the other way knowing that Jamaal would've gotten the first shot at being a lead back.

I think aaron jones is their best back, but Jamaal has a real chance to make you regret that trade during the suspension. Crowell does have a higher floor tho for the reasons mentioned

Unless Williams spontaneously developed talent over night he has bugger all chance of keeping the start job (unless he's arods best mate), I had Williams last yr and wanted him to succeed but Aaron Jones was light years ahead of him as a runner and it wasn't close. Like others said this will most likely be a rbbc and if anyone is going to come out on top it won't be Williams.

I'll gamble on Williams, he's not a flashy player but I think he's the most well-rounded RB on Green Bay's roster. Crowell is and will forever be a 2-down guy.

I actually think Jamaal showed quite well to end the season, and wouldn't be surprised for him to maintain a fantasy relevant role.
