Nick Chubb vs. Rashaad Penny

Postby j2cain » Sun May 06, 2018 9:17 am

Both seemed to land in a solid spot - Penny has a shot at more production out of the gate, but the Sea Chickens have a bad O Line

Chubb has more competition, but I feel he is better than Hyde in every aspect.

Who are you taking first?

Interesting, to me I don't think Chubb's landing spot is a positive at all. His draft pedigree certainly is, which keeps him in the top-6 for me but I'm honestly torn. Hyde is not JAG.

This feels reminiscent of the Vikings last year with Cook, except I don't know if Chubb is as good as Cook and I KNOW Hyde is better than L. Murray.

I voted for Chubb just betting on the fact that I THINK he's a much better prospect than Penny.

It's tough...I think Chubb is too good to not receive carries. Hyde can be let go after this year and Duke hasn't resigned

I preferred Chubb for the longest time but I just can't ignore Penny's draft capital. Also have heard alot of talk about other teams who wanted Penny (there are rumours that NE and Brown's wanted him with their next picks each) also with Hyde in that back field and Duke on passing downs puts a limit on chubbs upside this season.
Maybe draft penny then trade for Chubb ++ before next seasons kicks off

I meant next year...they have been discussing an extension, but I'm not sure if it stalled after Chubb being drafted

Chubb situation reminds me of D Henry being drafted to the Titans and having to sit behind D Murray...and just when the cloudy skies part and the sun is shining bright on the horizon, in comes Dion Lewis. :nono:

Browns suck and has isn't on the top of the depth chart. Drafting a RB for "long term" is foolish considering 90% of them hold little value after there rookie contracts. You want a guy that can come out of the gate swinging and Penny is poised to see over 300 touches next year. Bad O-line or not, the seahawks have Russell wilson and that'll open up the run game for Penny. Give me Penny all day every day

Chubb easily. Buying a prospect simply because of their landing spot is extremely dangerous. Things change rapidly in the NFL. You want to bet on the talent, and Chubb is superior in that department.

Love them both. Flip a coin  . Despite what other may say, Chubb will eat Hyde's lunch. He is at the far superior prospect coming out of college IMO. PPR wise Penny, but Chubb was point blank called "Jamaal Lewis" by Highsmith who, as a former RB, was enamoured with him, and I fully believe him when he said they are going to "just give him the ball". The were my 1.02/1.03 behind Barkley, so go with your gut, IMO.

I think they are the 2 best backs in this class behind Barkley, so I wouldn't fault you for taking either.
