i don't have the answer, but what i do know is (predraft) Artis-Payne and Fozzy are potential flyers at the moment.
I kneel to protest leagues that veto.

4 teams. Some studs, sleepers and bums.

no point in wondering when we will have our answer by this weekend. Does Carolina draft an RB? If so McCaffrey will be what he was last year, if not he'll get his shot at 200 carries.

I think 200 carries is a lot for a guy like him, but maybe he proves me wrong.

I do too but I don't think its out of the question. His size is actually the exact same as Kareem Hunt so its not like he's destined for a 3rd down role based on size. He was just awful running between the tackles last year, if he can make a significant jump then its definitely possible the team gets him the ball 170-200 times on the ground and 60-80 catches. that's his ceiling in my opinion

It's not always about size, some players can handle the between tackles runs and others can't. I don't believe he can stand up to a season of punching it through the middle, but he can move around to slot etc and play 3 downs. He may be a similar size to Kareem, but Kareem seems to thrive up the middle while I thought McCaffrey got tired trying to punch all game.

i don't think so. Even if they don't draft an RB, the could still grab CJA.

As a rookie he did very good in the receiving game, but mediocre in his run game. He has already bulked up this offseason and is ready for that 200 carry mark IMO. I wouldn't doubt it if the panthers add a change of pace back in the draft, but most likely he will be a down hill runner like Jordan Chunn in the late rounds.

I agree I think Kareem is a much better between the tackles runner and he carried the ball 272 times last year I think compared to McCaffrey's 117. I don't think McCaffrey will ever be as good of a pure runner as Hunt but I was just making the size comparison to say that CMC isn't out of the question to be able to handle 170-200 carries a year. It's not like he's 5'9 185lbs or anything, he has the stature and build similar to other RB's in the league that are carrying the ball 250+ times so I don't think its fair to write him off as a 3rd down specialists and receiving back only. Its yet to be seen if he can actually improve running in between the tackles so he very would could be limited to 100 carries a year but I don't think its fair to write him off after his rookie year.

It's also not just about how much you weigh, it depends on where that weight/muscle is. He may weigh around the same as Hunt, but they're not built the same. Also, people love to point out poor YPC to trash other RBs, but completely ignore it when it comes to CMC. I just don't see the Panthers doubling his rushing attempts from a year ago and still using him as a receiver like they did. I've said this before, but I think what he did last year will be right around where his ceiling is. That's pretty good for fantasy purposes...but I doubt he's going to be the next David Johnson putting up ridiculous rushing and receiving numbers like some people wanted him to be.

I don't think CMC will ever be DJ in a million years but getting 170-200 carries at 4ypc plus 60-80 catches is a fair ceiling to project. Thats not an outrageous stat line, its what 800 rushing and 800 receiving? We can all agree the receiving is there and I don't think 800 rushing yards is anything to write home about... Again I'm not saying that's a guarantee but the Panthers didn't draft him that high to be a pass catching RB. He'll get his shot and if he runs with it then it wouldn't shock me is all I'm saying. It's possible, not saying it can't happen. But I do think if his rush attempts increase, his receptions will decrease to an extent. There just aren't a lot of RBs catching 80 passes and carrying the ball 200 times. Maybe he can be the outlier, but I have a feeling the Panthers don't want to use him that way.
