Chad Williams

The time to grab this guy was yesterday and if he's in your FA pool, stop reading and go grab him. The 3rd round pick from Grambling has practically nobody in front of him. He was on a 22% snap share last year and now that the J Browns are gone, nothing but open field in front of him and I expect that percent to more than double.. Yes the Cards WILL draft a WR high because Fitz is now 35 and Nelson is 5'10" and though a speedster, had very little production being on the outside last season. Even if they do draft a WR high, it ALWAYS takes time to learn the offense and there's no way Chad doesn't get a shot in either the X or Z role by week 1 with a year of AZ's offense under his belt.

With Chad you've got the 3rd round draft capital, the SPARQ freak athleticism, the 74th percentile college dominator rating, and a quiet free agency for the Cards with wide receivers. That's not including the amount of coach/player uptalk for the guy. It's a no brainer that he will get the shot in 19. It's all systems go for Chad Williams and Sam Bradford to build chemistry and if that isn't enough to be intrigued by his potential, I don't know what is.

At this point, we have no idea and that's reaching high, but that is the best part about him. I see a sleeping giant here. The main thing to realize is that this guy is hardly owned in a lot of dynasty leagues and while FA has quieted down a bit, it's time to stash him. I see him reaching WR3 numbers by midseason only if he has the job down and has the rapport built with Bradford. For them to let the Browns go and have Chad slide right in with a quiet free agency tells me they are comfortable with their 3rd round pick taking the snaps. Whoever comes in will be challenging him, but he will know the offense and is capable to become Arizona's new No. 1. down the line.

Apparently he's has some major off field concerns.

"One of the big question marks surrounding Williams is an arrest last May in which he was charged with possession of a firearm and marijuana, fugitive from justice and an outstanding bench warrant. Officers found a loaded 9 mm pistol, a loaded Desert Eagle handgun, an unloaded AK-47 assault rifle, a 20-round magazine and glass jar of marijuana in the SUV."

Ouch.

I’m an owner and a believer but how can you say he knows the offense on a team with a new QB and a New Coaching staff?

Are you in a league with a bunch of fellow DLFers, and about to send out trade offers to sell him?

Idk man, he's a worthy flyer in deep leagues for sure, but... definitely just a lottery ticket still.

I'm already trying to hack into the MFL site to acquire him off of waivers.

You're absolutely right. They wiped out the offensive coordinator as well. Thought only Arians was gone, but good call. Still think he's better off with Bradford than Palmer.

Actually I'm not, but this is the way that I do sell players. How'd I do?
To me, the guy has all the physicality out there to be the top pass catcher in AZ. That's worth more than a lottery ticket. Again, Arizona can draft their future WR1 in the 1st round but that doesn't mean Williams isn't already in a good enough spot to take on the starting role.

Sounds like he's ready to slide right into the Michael Floyd role

Either that or he's just high on the 2nd amendment  (actually the circumstances of his arrest make him a perfect fit in Arizona)

I own Chad in a couple of leagues, and quite frankly appreciate this post. These are the kind of threads that I enjoy reading the most around here. The ones that bring attention to these guys, these end of the bench stashes and late round fliers that have me running an "all my leagues" search to see where they might be available. We can talk about Sammy Watkins move again or exhaust an argument about whether or not Kareem Hunt will see regression this year but to me this type of post is the meat and potatoes of these forums.

I play in deep leagues and appreciate reading about and discussing players that are accessible, cheap, who have potential, or even an inkling of a possibility of being relevant on my fantasy teams rather than wade through the communities opinions on Josh Gordon's extracurricular activities. The irony here is a guy is only a flier and laughable consideration until he is not, and by then you'll be paying full value because you missed the boat. These conversations have me actively checking the end-of-my-bench to see where I might take a chance and that is honestly one of my favorite aspects of this game. There isn't a better feeling than finding a flier that hits.

I'm not agreeing that Chad Williams is the next big thing, although I do agree he is a stash if you can get him cheap. Let's be honest here, no one is saying to go sell the farm, just that this is an opportunity to grab a guy who can start for you in a pinch while he is almost free .Just wanted to express my opinion on the these types of post and some of the nay-saying responses that they tend to elicit.
