Michael Thomas Vs. Keenan Allen

Postby FantasyFreakGuru » Tue Mar 20, 2018 1:20 pm

I'm curious what peoples views are on these two WRs. I have these dudes basically dead lock even. Keenan Allen injuries place him at #5 for me, but his separation and route running skills are off the charts.. I have Michael Thomas at #4 due to his durability and hands made of gorilla glue.

Just curious what people think, and who the prefer..!

Thanks Guys

I own both and I feel like it would be easier to part ways with keenan. I feel like Michael Thomas is the type of player they will still be extremely good in Sean Peytons offense regardless if brees is the QB. I'd be worried a little when Rivers retires for keenan

Something of value needs to be added to one side for me to choose. Add a 3rd to either side and Ill sway that way

Right, but this isnt regarding a trade. It regards who would you rather have, who do you prefer... Just debating the player.

They are definitely super close. I don't consider Keenan Allen injury prone. One of the two injuries as a pro was a spleen laceration. That's just bad luck. He did have the one ACL tear, but there are plenty of people who have torn their ACL and never had it happen again. Both are roughly the same age. Keenan is 11 months older. Both catch plenty of passes, and both have aging quarterbacks.

I do really see them as the same guy. I think most have Thomas ahead of Allen just slightly. I think I would also have him slightly higher, but it's really close. I love Keenan Allen though.

They're close, but I'm not sure why so many people prefer Thomas. Aside from the 1 year age difference, I prefer Allen. He already outscored MT last year (granted not by a whole lot) a year removed from ACL surgery. I also think he's the safer player once Brees and Rivers are gone. Both great though, and there shouldn't be a significant gap regardless of who you prefer.

I agree with you. I really want both on my squad.. I offered Sammy Watkins & Josh Gordon for M.Thomas to the guy in my league and he has been pondering the trade for about 5 days now. Im about to bug him about it now lol...

I would throw in a 3rd or 2nd if it gets it done and helps him make-up his mind sooner.

Would prefer to keep my 2nd rounders and I'm out of 3rds for this year. I do own 2.03, 2.04, 2.09. He has 2.12.. I'll offer him Sammy Watkins, Josh Gordon, 2.09 for M. Thomas & 2.12. If its not enough I'll offer him 2.03 instead and he'll have to bite. We expanded rosters this season so there is alot of good vets in this years draft.. 2nd rounders are gold IMO.

Don't let a second keep you from an awesome deal. Sammy Gordon and a 2nd is a good price to pay for MT

I was concerned a year ago at this time, but the way Allen came back from his injury, he's still the player I would prefer. Close, but I'd rank Allen higher.

Thomas for me but I think they have close to equal value to one’s team, but Thomas typically has a significantly higher value on the trade market. In my ongoing 16 team superflex startup I got thomas at 24 and Keenan at 40. I was happy with both picks but the value with Keenan was much higher.

If I had to trade one it would be Thomas. If I had to trade for one it would be Keenan.
