Who Won this Trade

Postby BHerm24 » Thu Feb 15, 2018 5:47 pm

Just would like to know everyone's thoughts one the deal I just did. The format is as follows:
12 team Keep 1QB, 2WR, 1RB, 1TE, and 2 WR/RB/TE. Scoring is standard PPR. Draft is not a Snake draft it stays in order you finished the season before every round. I finished last last year so I have the first pick in each round

My lineup is
QB- Goff or Wilson
WR- OBJ
WR- Hopkins
RB- David Johnson
TE- Evan Engram
WR/RB/TE- Dalvin Cook
WR/RB/TE- Julian Edelman or Tevin Coleman

The deal that I traded was the 1.01 and Will Fuller for Deandre Hopkins and the 2.08.

Did I give away Saquon Barkley too cheap or did I come out ahead of this trade??
Team #1 - 12 team 6pts all TDs PPR and 0.2 PPC. Keep Starting lineup everyone else gets thrown in for redraft

WR: Hopkins
RB: Joe Mixon
WR/RB/TE: Antonio Gibson

Give me Hopkins over the 1.01. The 2.08 is a bonus!

You easily won that trade. With it being a keeper league it places a higher emphasis on top tier players. Hopkins is exactly that, while you hope Barkley turns into a top back.

Also with keeping more WR than RB it places a higher value on them. You probably tend to only keep 1-2 RB and with DJ already you only need one more, whereas WR you can always use a top 5 talent. Nice job!

I voted for the Barkley side for the simple fact I trust my grading process and Barkley is grading out better then any RB I’ve scouted since AP..
As a DJ owner i have major concerns and I’d prefer to trade D Johnson and keep Barkley if I was determined to trade a RB for a stud WR..
I think you would have been much better off in the long run trading DJ.

I was thinking this exactly. I like Hopkins over the 1.01 but having DJ on the Roster, I would have tried moving DJ for Hopkins and then replacing DJ with Barkley.

Fully agree.

I do see where you can argue that having DJ in a league with low RB requirements is good enough, but i too have Saquon as high as i've ever had a guy and would be willing to take what i feel is a low risk that he pans out to a stud. DJ could/would have fetched you a similar return to Hopkins which is something you realy need looking at your WR depth.

In a startup I would take Hopkins as 1.02 Barkley a late 1 rd.

So clearly Hopkins for me

Not all 1.01 picks are created equally ... You have to trust your grading process and for me Barkley is grading out better then any RB in well over 5 years ..
I’m swinging for the fences and taking Barkley .

Granted I run my team like a riverboat gambler so I will agree with the consensus that Hopkins is the superior value but again I’m going Barkley .
