Chris Hogan, duplicate success?

Postby hjernazian » Fri Jan 05, 2018 4:02 am

I landed Hogan in a nice haul early this season after he put up double digit points in all but one week, weeks 2-8 (11 points - 22 points) after of course Edelman went down Week 1. I'm wondering what his prospects are for next year and on. He's 29 years old, and wondering if his success was somewhat of a fluke d/t Edelman being out. With that said, I don't see Edelman returning from this latest injury in true form. I am currently putting Hogan 3rd in line in the passing game, after Cooks and Gronk, and as a solid WR2/3. Is this too high? too low? I remember reading blurbs on the guy during weeks 2-8 where he was recommended to be played as a WR1.

To me a lot of this still depends on how Brady ages and how Edelman comes back, if Brady stays Brady and Edelmans off then I'd feel comfortable with him as an upside based WR 3

I agree with the previous post. Depends on those factors, but a New England WR always carries some potential upside week to week.

On one hand, he's a legitimately good player who has a chance to be a WR3+ no matter who the QB is, but on the other hand, he's no replacement for Edelman. Other than being white, they're total opposites. Hogan is a fast, fairly big, vertical threat - sort of a poor man's Vincent Jackson.

I agree. He and Cooks kinda play the same role and he took a backseat to him this season. He's not a player I would want to rely on starting every week, but will have some good games here and there. He's also 29 years old, which most people seem to forget.

yeah, i def wouldn't be comfortable with him as my weekly WR or maybe even Flex. But he can get it done most weeks a WR3-5 if Edelman is off and Brady is Brady.
