Tarik Cohen future

Postby Brandnewbaseboards » Wed Nov 08, 2017 2:06 pm

What is this guy? Is he Tyreek 2.0? Is he Sproles? Is he a flash in the pan who will pop up once every 5 games with a long score. I’m looking towards next year and am having trouble valuing the guy.

Hard to say with John Fox in town.

Im gona go against the grain,

I can see this having a much better second year.

You have to know the defenses are playing closer due to Mitch only throwing what 10 passes a game?

that doesn't give a guy like Cohen to have space. We seen what he can do when given space, hes a playmaker.

And the bears running the ball 30+ times game doesn't help.

id hold him for next year when they open the playbook up and get some of their WR's back.

All the warning signs were there that he was a "pump and dump" but you weren't the only one stuck holding the bag. He had plenty of supporters on this forum.

Sold him and a 2nd round pick for Tevin Coleman the second game he went off. Gotta know when it feels flukey.

Darren sproles clone. He'll drive you nuts, best to try to include him in a package as a cherry on top.

Quick question, is a Darren Sproles clone a bad thing? He seems like a talented player, but his situation will be a big part of it. Honestly there was no reason he shouldn't have a nice floor in PPR, the Bears just inexplicably stopped using him for a stretch.

I think he will be special and especially if they can get rid of Fox. However, I flipped him, and some, for Mike Williams and a 3rd. But, for when Fox is gone, if Cohen is still around, I believe he will be a reliable low-end RB2, high-end RB3

Cohen has special talent, but whether he becomes a fantasy star or not depends upon his coach having some imagination.
Dynasty player since 2002.
I probably should have done something more productive with that time...

Ugh... I'm trying to think of the RB he most reminds me of... sproles? No way he lasts that long... there was a falcons back a year or 2 ago that showed up every other week with like one touch and it was a 50 yard score... fantasy points looked good overall but it was so hard to trust him... that's tarik cohen now

And since I can't remember the name of the other back, that should give you a hint where I'm at on cohen lol

Edit: Antone Smith... I know cohen hasn't relied on long TD, but the flukiness is similar to me

As a fan I like watching him play and do some freakish stuff a few times a game. As a fantasy play moving forward I sold high on him in 2 leagues and cant get squat for him in another. You may be stuck now. I really like the Coleman deal posted above.

Sproles is/was a decent flex but had plenty of 5/10 yard games. It's a low floor and both are often used as decoys.

I believe he can be a Brian Westbrook lite .

Tarik can handle 10 rushes and all the passing game work except for when play calls for a QB to hold ball on a seven step drop. Then Tarik could be a liability in standing up & stonewalling a blitzing player. Quick play action passes where a chop block or he only has to delay rusher a split second he can do okay.

Time will tell but so far he has shown the ability to get up from a few big hits. I think he can be durable enough with managed touches

The biggest enemy to Tarik Cohen relevance is his coach. After seeing what went down with the LA Rams, you would hope that Bears ownership would take the hint and run Fox out of town. Being in year 2 of a rebuild in the league where I have him, I'm happily hanging on to him as a bye-week fill-in + with the hope that Fox gets canned and he gets used properly.
