Adam Theilan value

I was offered Adam Theilan in a trade. I'd like some help determining his value. I see he's targeted quite a bit, but i'm not very familiar otherwise. Can someone help me out with some comparable players and your projections the next few years.

He's for real. I wouldn't sell him for less than a projected early First.

I would compare him to Jeremy Maclin in his prime, a little bigger and not quite as fast tho.

i was just checking the boards for this very question, weird.

guy offered me Thielen for what would currently be a top 3 pick, with a very strong chance of being the number 1 overall. im right smack in the middle of my league in both record and points scored.

im leaning towards no, i guess im just not big on Thielen long term for some reason. an early first seems to be just a little higher than im willing to pay.

Yeah I don't blame you on that. If it's a First from a terrible team, I'd probably hang onto it

I sold him for a late first (8-10) before his last game where he finally found the endzone :wall: :wall: :wall: . I have WR depth and felt I needed another 1st to bundle with my own to move up in the draft and get an RB since trading for non bench fodder RBs in my league is all but impossible

I think that late first was fair, but would have much rather gone mid and certainly think there are people plenty willing to pay a first for Thielen and if my team was more balanced I'd buy him for the 1.6. He has amazing hands (zero drops this season and watching live, turns a lot of balls a WR should only be able to get a hand on into catches), great routes to get separation so gets the target volume, and good but not great speed. I don't think he has a super high ceiling though. Jarvis Landry 2.0 is a pretty fair comparison in that his value is directly tied to how good the team is doing.

His biggest problem is the questionable QB play, and the QB changing so much he gets out of rythum. It's looking like it'll change again to Teddy at some point this year, unless Case can keep winning games and make it very hard for coaches to give him the hook even when Teddy is 100% and Bradford knee stop hurting him. He's a very consistent WR2 with Diggs out or slowed by injry, but has a little boom/WR3 (not bust) potential when Diggs is in and lighting it up.

I'd definitely keep the pick just because you'll be able to get Thielan +++ for it if it ends up being 1.01. With that said I love Thielan and would be buying for a mid 1st.

i just pulled the trigger on a trade to get Thielen. i gave up 2 seconds and jerrick mckinnon. picks are both back half of the round, and likely to stay that way

i feel pretty good about it, leaguemates seem to think maybe a small overpay pending on how you feel about mckinnon. i think hes just a backup, and i had been trying to move him FOR a second or comprable wr for a couple weeks now and not even a nibble.

Jeremy Maclin in his prime is a good call

I would buy him for like a like 1st, and sell for any top 5 pick.

Id buy for a mid first, as a seller I wouldn't accept a trade for him unless it was a lock to be 1.01-1.03 or a mid first+. He is the real deal. His routes are so smooth. For a slower guy he doesn't struggle finding space.
