Re: Michael Thomas v Christian McCaffrey
Specifically for your team, CMC.
This is an interesting comparison. Michael Thomas had a stud rookie season, but I'm in the mindset that he regresses in the role of WR1. I didn't watch many saints games, I just saw him put up the #s against me in fantasy. But I'm afraid he is a talented WR who benefited from playing against CB2s while Cooks got the constant double teams. Now that he will be "the man" in NO I'm afraid his going against CB1s will be too much for him and his production will drop off into low end WR2 numbers.
I have a feeling this is less like Alshon stealing the spotlight from Marshall and more like Cobb flopping when Jordy went down for the season.
Just my 2 cents.

Re: Michael Thomas v Christian McCaffrey
Mccaffrey for me for a couple reasons.
First, I'm just not as high on Thomas as the consensus. I would not draft him at his ADP. I do think his production is likely to dip, and it's heavily dependent on Brees staying both around and superb. Thomas is talented, but so are a ton of other WRs.
Second, in a full ppr Mccaffrey could potentially be something special, something rare (which I don't believe Thomas is). What I believe he will be this year is nothing too spectacular because I think Stewart will still take a lot of carries, but in a year or two I expect Mccaffrey's carry count to go up. He has the legs to potentially be a workhorse. He is also a great prospect as a 3rd down back and can even motion into the slot, giving him a potential target volume to make him incredibly valuable in ppr formats down the road. Those workhorse RBs that are ALSO pretty elite receiving specialist...look around the NFL and point them out. Not...too...many. All I can think of is Bell and DJ right now. I don't think McCaffrey has what it takes to be as good a runner as Bell or DJ, but he looks good enough to get a lot of carries, and he certainly looks good enough to get a lot of targets. If there's a profile out there in this draft to be the next DJ/Bell (not their exact metrics profile but moreso a profile that can match the target and carry volume) it's probably McCaffrey. RBs with both high carry and target volume are getting to be so rare. Grab the chances where you can. WR points are more easily replaced in your lineup as the drop in scoring is not nearly as steep.

Re: Michael Thomas v Christian McCaffrey
CMC would help your team more than keeping Thomas but I would think you could get additional picks or another developmental piece on top of CMC for Thomas. Even with regression Thomas should put up a 1100/8 season.

Re: Michael Thomas v Christian McCaffrey
Nothing to discuss, MT and not close. And this has nothing to do with CMC. I think MT is worth more than any rookie right now.

Re: Michael Thomas v Christian McCaffrey
CMC has to prove himself, but Thomas is new to his role as well... And the value of a successful CMC for your team is higher, me thinks?
