Meredith. Plus, it seems like Buffalo is going towards tank-mode and who knows what kind of QB situation they have in the future.

I wouldn't say it's Cam easily. Both in similar situation where they should be the #1 option on their teams. Jmatt's QB should be much better than Meredith's, at least for this year. I'd say it's a push for me.

Based on... what exactly?

Same height, but Matthews weighs slightly more and benched almost twice as much. Very similar verts (Meredith beat him 39 to 36 which is negligible). Technically the same 40 times, but JMatt did his at the combine whereas CM only had a pro day. So he might have run 4.65 or so compared to JM's 4.46 (which is very fast for his height and weight). CM did have a 7" better broad jump and a 0.19 second better 3-cone. Same short shuttle times.

Well isn't that nice.

With less snaps and inferior QB play, Meredith had more 100 yard games (4 vs 1) and averaged 13.5 YPC while Matthews had 11 YPC.

Have you watched Meredith? He makes a ton of plays downfield and picks up chunks. Matthews runs mostly underneath routes.

Yes, I have. He's a nice talent for sure. Devasted to see his injury last week.

My point is not to knock him at all, but simply to point out that he's not "way faster and more explosive". Matthews is more impressive from a physical standpoint. And they play different positions, Matthews is a slot guy Meredith is an outside guy.

At the end of the day, I'm probably arguing more out of boredom because it's August than because I disagree drastically with your opinion ;)

Welp, I would have voted Meredith before the injury but now I would have to say Matthews.

Matthews played back to back seasons with Bradford and Wentz. They don't exactly offer the type of passing game to boost a player's YPC. It's quite the opposite. It baffles me that Matthews is criticized all the time about his YPC. Incidentally it was 13 his rookie year with Foles and sanchez.
