Ju-Ju vs. Godwin

Postby keebs3 » Mon Aug 07, 2017 10:52 pm

Both players are on the board currently in the 19th round of my startup draft. I know Ju-Ju is ranked higher, but, with Evans on my roster Godwin would be a nice Handcuff to have in dynasty. With that in mind- who would you target?

Thoughts?

Handcuffing WRs isn't really a thing. Take the guy you like better. I'd go with JuJu and hope he's finally the one to break the USC WR trend.

I don't know, I think handcuffing WRs is a underutilized strategy- especially when you have a top WR. It might not be as cut and dry as RB handcuffs but I think there is value in it.

But I've liked what I've heard about Godwin in camp so far,!i think he'll be my guy.

Thanks!

I've never handcuffed WRs, but I prefer Godwin slightly over Juju straight up by.

I'd go juju in your case.

It would be very hard to ever play Evans and Godwin together and expect to get (2) #1 WR games out of them.

But it is more of a possibility to get two #1 games from Evans and Juju....

Generally speaking, but they're close enough that shouldn't influence your decision. I've taken Godwin over Juju in several leagues. Don't pick handcuffs for receivers, pick the guy you think is going to be the better player.

For long time value alone, I prefer Godwin straight up.

Pick the best guy. If Godwin becomes fantasy relevant as a top #2 WR you can always use him as trade bait. If no nibbles keep as insurance for Big Mike. Worst case scenario you can't start him but at least he's not starting against you

Juju for the best chance at blowing the gates off. Godwin for the best long-term value.

On the topic of handcuffing WRs, Every Keenen Allen owner that is not checking on Tyrell Williams price deserves what happens if Allen goes down again. that stack saved my season in a couple leagues last year.
Dynasty player since 2002.
I probably should have done something more productive with that time...

Godwin should be a low end wr2 high end WR3 when all is said and done. Ju ju looks like a bust to me.

Piling on the Godwin love. Also, if you are still trying to decide, why not just trade back a few picks and take whomever is left? Did that in a rookie draft.
The standard is the standard.

JuJu for me. His early breakout age and those Dez Bryant comparisons are just too much for me to ignore.

I drafted Juju over Godwin as an Evans owner. I hate owner two WRs on the same offense especially when it's not a team like the Packers that are already prolific.
