Re: Watkins vs Hopkins
I love Watkins and still have faith, but I would trade him for Hopkins in a split-second.

Re: Watkins vs Hopkins
I like the enthusiasm, but that is a pretty flawed argument. The whole negative of being in a Rex Ryan offense is lack of targets.turfhero wrote: ↑Tue Aug 01, 2017 11:07 pmThis^^^ I'm a Watkins lover, have him in every dynasty league of mine. Lets just take a look at both of their career best years, when they were both healthy.
Nuk's numbers are inflated due to targets.
2015 AGE-23 HOU 16 GAMES 111 RECEPTIONS 1521 YARDS 11 TD 192 TARGETS
Watkins has played his entire career under Rex Ryan's league heaviest rushing teams. (Except for now!)
2015 AGE-22 BUF 13 GAMES 60 RECEPTIONS 1047 YARDS 9 TD 96 TARGETS
Honestly, please tell me how a healthy Nuk is better than a healthy Sammy. Injuries aside, because they can happen to anyone. Ask Teddy Bridgewater how injuries can occur at any second. I would take Watkins in a heartbeat over Nuk and it's not even close. Nuk had exactly twice as many targets as Watkins and Watkins only played 13 games. If you simply double Watkins numbers due to targets you'll get a stat line of: 120 RECEPTIONS 2094 YARDS 18 TD 192 TARGETS
My conclusion is if Sammy Watkins received the same target share in 2015 as Hopkins, Watkins would have rewrote the WR record books IN ONLY 13 GAMES IN A REX RYAN OFFENSE. (Mic drop!)

Re: Watkins vs Hopkins
Hopkins for me pretty easily. He has had several good years and has for the most part stayed healthy. I honestly do not get all the Watkins love. I understand the guy is talented but he has done nothing in this league but get hurt. Until he puts up a solid year and stays healthy I want no part of the dude. Cannot help me from the IR

Hopkins easily..Have both and would take hopkins any day over watkins
Re: Watkins vs Hopkins
I just took Watkins over Hopkins at the 11th spot in a full PPR dynasty startup.
Call it a hunch but I feel that Sammy will be a first round startup guy next year, and Nuk will slip to mid/late second.

Re: Watkins vs Hopkins
I think Watkins has more upside and is the better talent, but Hopkins is safer and still has a ton of upside of his own. I own both in one league, so hopefully they both go nuts this year haha.

Re: Watkins vs Hopkins
Sammy Watkins is not getting 192 targets in 2017...Or ever. You can make the argument that watkins is a better talent, but he's not getting the targets to put up those numbers. Also target to target comparison doesn't work. You need to see how many of those passes were actually on target. Hopkins didn't have Tyrod throwing. And with Watkins injury history I take hopkins.turfhero wrote: ↑Tue Aug 01, 2017 11:07 pmThis^^^ I'm a Watkins lover, have him in every dynasty league of mine. Re: Watkins vs Hopkins
I agree the argument you were replying to was whack, but Hoyer, the guy who served up those 192 targets, is way better for his #1 WRs than Taylor.
