D'onta Foreman vs Samaje Perine (post NFL draft)

Postby remedy29 » Fri Jul 07, 2017 5:51 am

I'm sitting with the 1.12 pick (won championship last year!) and debating on who to take in a PPR. I like McCaffrey, Fournette, Mixon, Cook, Hunt, Kamara as well as OJ Howard, Njoko, Cory Davis and Mike Williams. Assuming they all go top 10, I'm having a hard time ranking the next two. My list includes, Foreman, Perine, Zay Jones, Ross and Engram. Out of these two RBs, I see Perine often ranked ahead of Foreman. I'm having a hard time justifying why. I see Foreman as a better physical talent, high college production and in a great spot for a RB. Perine to me looks like a solid, but unspectacular RB. Washington does not throw to RBs, so I doubt he gets a bump in value there. In addition Foreman was drafted in the 3rd round. I'd like to hear opinions between these two.

It really is situation with these 2. Perine is just in a better spot to start getting early down carries right away, whereas Foreman holds the stats, the measurables, might take him a little longer to get early down work though. Either way, I know the dilemma you're in. That's why I picked Perine first and turned around to make a trade and grabbed Foreman. At this point I like them both about equally. Which I know doesn't help you, but I suppose I'd be more bummed to lose Foreman. His stats and his ability to explode as a bell cow back are greater than Samaje's I think.

I think this is just a preference call. I have them both pretty even. Perine probably has a better shot of producing year one.

I will take Foreman. I think in 2 years, he will be the better fantasy back. HOU loves to pound the ball and I dont think Miller will be there after this year.

I got both Perine and Foreman in my rookie draft....pretty happy with it. Perine at 1.10 and Foreman at 3.1.

I think Foreman is in a good spot based upon the possibility of Lamar Miller being a cap casualty if he doesn't perform to expectations this season or next.

Foreman for me. He's more athletic and Houston loves to run the ball, but he's likely to keep a timeshare with Lamar Miller if both are healthy.

Foreman's pass blocking is a worry for me. Although I don't see perine being used commonly as a receiver he showed he's capable in limited opportunities. 30 reps on the bench press speaks volumes to me. I think he'll become Washington's work horse sooner than foreman will become houstons. Give me perine. I think his value will be significantly higher than Foreman's after this year. Foreman may catch up later but I think you'll be able to acquire him cheaply for 1-2 years before he really blossoms.

Neither. Take Kamara 8-)
Dynasty player since 2002.
I probably should have done something more productive with that time...
