Davis or Mixon???

Postby jonniecakes » Thu Jun 01, 2017 3:45 am

Guy at 1.01 is already penciling in Fournette...and we don't draft until August.

Trying to acquire 1.02, and if I do, who's the BPA? Originally had Davis in there but the Mixon train is gaining steam. My lineup is in my sig. I've got decent talent at RB and WR (forgot to include Gillislee in my sig).

Take Davis. Mixon has lots of talent but the Bengals o-line is a dumpster fire. Plus, all the usual stuff—wide receivers last longer and perform more consistently from year to year.

Take Dalvin Cook.

I know it shouldn't surprise me, but wow. There are so many threads already with this. Read them, and make your own decision.

I would take Davis if Fournett not available.

I think they're close enough where I would take the player based on team need. Personally, I prefer Mixon.

It's tough man. I have the 1.2 and Fournette is gonna go 1.1. My only rb's are West, Dixon, and Chris Thompson. I want to draft Mixon so bad but EVERYONE tells me to draft Davis. I saw someone say in another post that guys like Davis come around every year or two... guys like the top running back in this class are few and far between in todays NFL. Next years class also looks like a good one but not long ago running backs weren't being taken in the first round.

I'm taking Mixon no matter what. I know popular opinion is Fournette or Davis, but I've been banging the Mixon drum for a while and I'm sticking to my gut. I can wait for Cincy to address their O-line because Fournette has the same issue with Jax O-line.

Davis is an excellent prospect and a equally good decision. But, I think your WR's are in excellent shape. 1 more RB would go a long way to solidify your stable of backs.

The Big 12 isn't known for its defense, but it should be noted Mixon had excellent games against OSU & Auburn. Both ranked high in team defense.

I'm all over the Mixon bandwagon too. Year 1 might not be everything we hope and dream for but I believe year 2 is when he explodes. I've found a way to land him in every single rookie draft this year. I believe he is the next great pass catching workhorse RB which is the equivalent of fantasy gold. I really like Davis too. I think he is the safe choice that will provide a quality return on investment for years to come but what I am chasing is the type of player that has the ability to carry you to a championship. The difference between the very few elite RB's and the rest is substantial while finding a quality PPR WR in a pass happy league is a much easier task. There's definitely more risk associated with Mixon just based on RB vs WR without incorporating any of the off-field issues but I truly believe the ceiling is higher. I've chosen to take a stance and believe in it.
