Gerald Everett vs Evan Engram

Postby Chuck_The_Deuce » Wed May 24, 2017 6:50 am

I know Engram is looked at as in the "top three," but I've been on an Everett kick lately. They're both very similar players and almost identical metrics. Their situations are what is making me like Everett more lately. I know its a lot of narrative based "coach speak," but I think Everett is in a better situation. Younger QB, less competition for touches, less competition at the TE position, offense and coaches that have utilized TEs heavily in the past (Reed).

What do you guys think? Am I crazy?

I think Higbee is more competition at TE for Everett than anything on the Giants roster. The younger QB also sucks until he proves otherwise.

I do like Everett and agree there's a lot of opportunity but I'm more inclined to pay the higher cost for Engram.

I think you're only a little crazy. That Rams offense is one I would avoid. Sure, they might improve a little with the new coaching staff, but I just don't see a rookie TE producing or being featured anytime soon on that offense. Engram is more talented and plays on an offense that can move the ball and spread the wealth.

I like Everett and am targeting him late in the leagues I'm in but I am going to have to go Engram here. As far as the differing QBs go . . . although Eli is on the down slope of his career QBs these days are playing longer and longer thanks to rule changes so he may be around for another 5 years (that would be pushing it).

Honestly Eli may outlast Goff. High first rounders are given a long leash but some do not make it to a second contract *cough*RG3*cough*
QB - Andrew Luck, Andy Dalton
RB - Lamar Miller, Tevin Coleman, Leonard Fournette, Joe Mixon, Christian McCaffery, Joe Williams, Matt Jones, Mike Davis
WR - Michael Thomas, DeVante Parker, Tyrell Williams, Quincy Enunwa, Josh Doctson, Cooper Kupp, Josh Reynolds, Leonte Carroo, Rashard Higgins, Cameron Meredith, Adam Thielen, Krishawn Hogan, Charone Peake
TE - Martellus Bennett, Evan Engram, Clive Walford, Virgil Green
K - Greg Zuerlein

I think Engram just might buck the trend of tight ends not producing... love the giants offensive potential.

If you have a high pick in your rookie draft like top 10 like I do. I would skip a TE and go with Everett later. At least that is my plan. But straight up....probably Engram.
