Dalvin Cook vs OJ Howard?

Postby hockeyBjj » Sat Apr 29, 2017 9:43 am

Horrid landing spot for one, phenomenal for the other. Which would you take with the 1.6 pick assuming Fournette, Davis, McCafrey, Mixon, and Mike Williams are all taken up. Start 1 TE and can flex either TE or RB

Would you go other? Someone like John Ross or a different TE perhaps?

depends for me on preseason showing - my leagues drafts are late (generally after week 3 of the preseason) so i that will make my choice.

right now? OJ Howard, hands down, mainly because the vikings OL is soooooo bad and their QB doesnt scare anyone into playing deep zones.

i think the Vikings just ruined Cook personally, but i will await some preseason tape....

Yeah that'd be nice. We draft in June. Theory is for us to have the same draft guys before you get to see them at all in the NFL like the real draft. Lot more misses and a lot more what in hindsight end up steals

If you're lucky and Cook falls to the 1.06, don't get cute and pass on him.

If Cook is there at 1.06, take him with a big smile. He is still my 2nd ranked RB. I'm a 'Canes fan and I had to watch that guy throttle us every, dang, year.

I think its closed based on team need. TE Premium and longevity factor into leagues I play in. I would take OJ between 1.05-1.07. Mike Williams for me is close. That would be tough. Vikings have a terrible Oline. Plus the shoulder injury worries me.

The Vikings OL was very bad last year, but the main reason is a very high number of injuries struck.
I don't expect the line to be good, but they should be significantly better than they were just by hopefully being a little more healthy and not having to start rookie undrafted linemen

I votef Cook. This article has eased my fears on Cook going to a team with a poor O-line and facing more defenders in the box. Definitely an interesting read

Why does everyone seem to think Murray is so much better than Cook? Cook is going to be the work horse. most likely this year at some point, if not then next year for sure. Cook and this isnt even close.

This is DYNASTY though, not a 1 year redraft. I think Cook will be fine - he should get a ton of dump passes and Murray will likely get hurt again. I can easily see 1200 combined yards and about 6-8 TD's just for year 1 for Cook.
Start 1QB, 1-4RB, 1-4WR, 1-4TE. TE prem

Team 1 (14 team)

QB- K.Murray,,Lock, Brissett
RB- D.Cook, JRobinson ,Mattison, Coleman, J.White, E.Benjamin
WR- Hopkins, Evans,, Hamler, Fitz, DeSean Jax, Stills, V.Jefferson, T.Smith
TE- Hurst, Ebron,, Akins, Cox, Dissly, Uzomah, Jarwin

Team 2 (16)

QB- Wilson,Rivers, Luton, Rudolph
RB- E.Elliott, Kamara, Edmonds, B.Scott, Gaskin, L.Murray, Love, Perine, JJ Taylor
WR- K.Allen, M.Evans, Fitzgerald, R.Cobb, D.Jackson, Pascal, D.Robinson, Watson, Devernay
TE- Hooper, Ertz, Schultz, Alie-Cox, Arnold, Okwuegbunam, Hollister

Team 3 (16)

QB- Mariota,, Foles, K.Allen, Kizer
RB- D.Harris, Hynes, Mattison, AJ Dillon, Ozigbo
WR- D.Parker, Peoples-Jones, Pascal, Funchess, Isabella
TE- Boyle, Deguara,

2021 picks- 1.6, 2.2, 2.4, 2.11, 2.14, 3.14, 3.15, 4.1, 4.11, 5.2, 5.4, 5.5
2022 picks- 1st (5 picks), 2nd (4 picks), 3rd (2 picks), 4th (1 pick), 5th (2 picks)

Wow thats a little wishfull thinking. THey have a terrible Oline, Qb is average and they are a defensive minded ball control team. So they are just going to ingore Latavious who they signed and Mkinnion will still get a few carries. Not to mention they have a lot of WR/TE mouths to feed if/ when they do decide to throw. Sorry but Cook isn't going to be very relevant until next yr or barring injury.

Who thinks that?? The community does not seem to like Latavius at all.

Yeah I think I am closer to agreeing with this.
