John Ross vs Joe Mixon?

This is the spot for player-to-player comparisons.

Both available at #6 pick, who do you take?

John Ross vs Joe Mixon?

Postby hockeyBjj » Wed Apr 19, 2017 9:51 am

I have the #5 and #6 pick, assuming nothing crazy with landing spots I plan on taking Christian McCaffrey with #5 (unless Dalvin Cook or Mike Williams drops which I doubt) and then as of now I'm torn of taking John Ross or Joe Mixon at 6.

Or would a better question be pick 2: McCaffrey, Ross, or Mixon?

Edit: This thread was made before the draft. Lol at thinking McCaffrey would be available at #5 now. Dalvin Cook would be there to face off with John Ross I believe

Ask again next week after the draft, but based on just pure talent, I'm taking Mixon.

You might not have a chance at Mixon. He could very well end up being a top 4 pick in dynasty drafts

I know you shouldn't just default to a position of need as there may be better players available but no one has projected Ross within the top 5 or 6, maybe the draft would change that.

Yet, based on your current roster with your only primary RB being Ajayi? I'd probably lean both McCaffrey and Mixon unless someone drops to you.

I hope he does, that would mean likely Mike Williams would fall to me and I'd take him alongside McCafrey which would be better in my opinion.

Where are you seeing that? Of the rankings I've looked at, Ross is consistently #6 with Mixon at 6-8.

For 1st round, I'd rather go best available regardless of position. I'll likely use my 2nd round on a RB since there's a few others I like as well. Theo Riddick in PPR has been putting up good numbers for me but I am indeed weaker at RB than at WR after Rawls didn't work out for me. Seahawks even brought in Fat Boy Lacey as they don't trust him to stay healthy :(

If Ross' situation turns out to be extremely enticing sure, but I can't say I'm sold on him.

For what it's worth:
Fournette, Davis, McCaffrey, Mixon, Williams, Cook

My gut says either McCafery or Mixon will be gone by 1.05, if not both.....you may be stuck with bot WR's....

Depending on Landing spot if McCaffery goes to Indy or No...gotta be thinking he'll go 2 or 3......

Going blind on where they end up, I have all 4 RB's above either of the WR's....and curious on Ross.....you would take him over Davis or Williams? I have Davis higher....still not sure on Williams...will depend on landing spot.

No. Ross to me is the #3 WR after those two, with Davis as the #1. If McCafrey or Mixon is gone by #5, I will be very pleased as I can take likely Williams with that pick. I'd be even happier with Davis or if Cook isn't taken.

Cook vs McCafrey could become landing dependent if McCafrey gets something like Colts like you mentioned and Cook ends up in a committee hell hole

edit: ppr by the way, if you were thinking it was not and that's why you have the RBs ranked highly. I haven't seen anyone without Davis in the top 4

We will see where Mixon goes in the actual draft, but I gotta believe in most rookie drafts he will go in the top 4. McCaffery is gaining steam too...
