A. Jones vs Fournette
A. Jones vs Fournette
What's the gap between Aaron Jones and Leonard Fournette right now? I'd take Fournette straight up, but curious how big people think the gap is? Anyone going with the scorching hot take of Jones > Fournette?

Re: A. Jones vs Fournette
It's close but I'll take a crack at Jones. Finally getting the snaps and touches he deserves in my opinion. In an offense that could have always used some more RB balance and there will always be chances for check downs. Maybe hes not a better fantasy option, but I like his talent more. LF up the middle... 20 times for 80 yards and maybe a TD. Then hurt for a week or 2.
I'm not confident in the Pack sticking with Jones the same way I'm not confident LF stays healthy. Both are in that 10-15 range for me

I still think its LF by a decent amount. I'm not very keen on LF but he's a stud when he does play.

Re: A. Jones vs Fournette
Fournette's value insulation as a top 4 draft pick vs Jones' day 3 status can't be ignored. That matters.
Let's say they each have a bad week in 5 days (12 touches for 35 scoreless yards) and then each tears an ACL.
Fournette would be worth much more this winter, if that scenario were to play out.

Re: A. Jones vs Fournette
He's catching the ball too, though. He had 36 receptions in 13 games last year, and is getting involved in the receiving game this year, too. That can't be ignored. Fournette by a mid first for me. Jones already has a suspension and is in the program, too. I'd easily take Fournette, here, although I do like Jones.Jigga94 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 20, 2018 8:02 pm It's close but I'll take a crack at Jones. Re: A. Jones vs Fournette
Fournette is worth more but competing this year I'm more confident of Jones each week than Fournette.
Re: A. Jones vs Fournette
Right but Jones is getting more involved in the pass game as well. I could easily see him catching 3 per game haha that's not a tonFantasyFreak wrote: ↑Wed Nov 21, 2018 12:11 amHe's catching the ball too, though. Re: A. Jones vs Fournette
The stress and unknown of Fournette makes him unrosterable for me.
Re: A. Jones vs Fournette
This logic makes the most sense to me. I honestly don't like LF and would want to trade him for Fair Value if I owned him and I actually think Aaron Jones may be the next big thing but at the same time we see players like Aaron Jones come and go every single year and because he's a late round draft pick with a drug suspension history I could see the Packers parting ways the second its not smooth sailing.lukkynumber13 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 20, 2018 10:21 pm Fournette's value insulation as a top 4 draft pick vs Jones' day 3 status can't be ignored. LF is a top 4 draft pick and even with his injury history will be a relevant asset for years to come. especially since teams will continue to pay him to be their bell cow
Re: A. Jones vs Fournette
This can't be overlooked or ignored. He's missed I believe 10 games between this year and last year. He was hurt in college. He runs with a style that attracts contact. I am not saying I'd take Jones over him, but I feel LF is vastly over valued by most in dynasty
I am just a guy sharing some thoughts
Re: A. Jones vs Fournette
I agree, I said in an earlier post if I owned him I'd look to move him for a similarly valued RB that I liked more. At this point I'd ride the season out and hope he doesn't get hurt anymore to let his value rise back up and bit and trade him right after the season. I think there's a discrepancy of a few RB's right now in the 10-15 range but I'd be glad to get Cook/Chubb/Kerryon/Sony for him. All of whom I'd take over Aaron Jones. I'm not sure I can get those RB's mentioned above for Aaron Jones Straight upmurphysxm wrote: ↑Sat Dec 01, 2018 12:57 pmThis can't be overlooked or ignored. Re: A. Jones vs Fournette
Cook, keryon and Sony all had knee injuries this year which is way more than serious than anything LF has had. He's an easy target because soft tissue injuries bother people. Knee injuries apparently are fine.
Re: A. Jones vs Fournette
Cook - I liked more than Fournette coming out of the draft regardless of draft position, thought he was a better overall back. Many disagreed with that assessment but I've stuck to that last year and this year.Space Cowboy wrote: ↑Sat Dec 01, 2018 1:17 pm Cook, keryon and Sony all had knee injuries this year which is way more than serious than anything LF has had. Kerryon - Definitely has durability issues, didn't think he was in the same league as LF just like 99.9% of the world, after his rookie year I'm all in on his skill, I trust the Lions offense for than the Jags and I trust they'll give him more receptions and goal line work in 2019
Sony - Hurt his knee in pre-season and has looked fine since, he hurt his MCL again mid season due to being tackled awkwardly.
LF has dealt with ankle issue throughout college and into his rookie year, now dealing with hamstring issue so yea those are "injury prone" type injuries. ACL and MCL's are mostly freak accidents. Cook hurt his hamstring and he has knock against him for that, if he does in it year 3 then yeah I'll be really concerned just like I am for LF. If all of these backs tear their ACL's more than once then yes that officially goes from 0-100 on the concern scale, especially if its the same knee
