Trey Burton vs George Kittle

Postby Life of Pablo » Sat Sep 15, 2018 11:36 am

I've seen a lot of back and forth between these two... though I always see Burton considerably ahead of Kittle in recent rankings/ADP.

Did their Week 1 performance flip the script a bit for you (unless you already preferred Kittle)? If you had to choose one to be your dyansty TE1 moving forward, which one would it be?

Kittle has a lock on that starter job going forward and his talent has elite potential. If Burton - who has been riding on the laurels of a single big "Philly Special" play - doesn't show up in the first part of the season and Adam Shaheen comes back healthy he could fade into oblivion before the season is even over, IMHO.
QBs: Patrick Mahomes, Trey Lance, Tua Tagovailoa
RB: Jonathan Taylor, Joe Mixon, Saquon Barkley, JK Dobbins, James Conner, Travis Etienne, Tony Pollard, Brian Robinson.
WR: Ja'Marr Chase, A.J. Brown, Deebo Samuel, Jaylen Waddle, Chris Godwin, JuJu Smith-Schuster, Chase Claypool, Chris Olave, Odell Beckham, Josh Palmer
TE: George Kittle, T.J. Hockenson, Taysom Hill, Trey McBride, Isaiah Likely
PK: Nick Folk
(IDPs, start two per week per position):
DL: Danielle Hunter, Myles Garrett, Alex Highsmith, Aidan Hutchinson, Chase Young,
LB: Roquan Smith, C.J. Mosley, Logan Wilson, Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoa
DB: Derwin James, Jeremy Chinn, Xavier McKinney, Jalen Pitre

* Ten team league started in 2014.
** 40 player roster, 30 Keepers per season.
*** Red denotes 2022 draft pickups.

Too early to say. I always have had them close but Kittle is in a pretty nice position to succeed. I'm more concerned with Trubisky being prolific enough to support all the weapons in Chicago. I know there is plenty of meat on the bone with JG

Yeah, I own both Burton and ARob and I can get behind this sentiment. I believe in both of them as well as Nagy boosting the Bears offense as a whole... but I think Trubisky's development will make or break them. Really hoping he can step it up as I did not like what I saw from the MNF game. I'm more than ok if it doesn't fully come together until next year, just wanna see some flashes this year to keep me optimistic.

I’m torn on this. I was all Burton in the offseason. I actually took Burton before Kittle. But now I’m leaning toward the other way. I don’t completely trust Trubisky and he hasn’t exactly looked Burton’s way that much in these 2 weeks. Kittle was actually dropped before week 1 and I wanted him, but he was taken before me on the waiver wire (by a Kelce owner), so I’m thinking of trying to trade for him (by maybe using Burton).
